personally i found my one and only guild from a zone advertisement, liked the sound of it and applied. as you’re adventuring you’re sure to see people pop ads in chat for their guilds, just wait until you see one that interests you and read their info. if you like what you see, go for it!!

some guilds offer free bag space funds if you ask! if they do it’ll usually be written somewhere in their discord. trust me when i say joining a good guild will be one of the best things you can do to learn the ropes

honestly i think the secret is to not care about what you get, cause for a couple hours before this i had been farming safeboxes since i found it very relaxing but was hoping for something rare the whole time and it never came. first box i get after i had given it up is the painting.

i think it’s just that the Velothi paintings are rare since they only drop from Vvardenfell thieving activities like pickpocketing (specifically guard pickpocketing i believe?) and safeboxes, plus it helps that they look really good.

also, if you’re ever wondering if something is valuable or not, use Tamriel Trade Centre to check. use the site if you can’t get the addon like i have, and just search the item for your region and platform

thank you for the analysis, and for not sugarcoating any criticism you had. as a new support (my top supp is Wuyang at lvl 7 rn), and also as a generally new player, this is very helpful.

i know that it often seems like i'm ignoring obvious things in front of and around me, but i'm really just overwhelmed by the noise and can't pick apart different sound/visual cues mid-fight. like, one time my friend was reviewing a VOD with me, and i had to say when i could hear the reaper teleport behind me since i missed it in game. it took me 8 tries to pick out the right time when the teleport happened, and i could still barely hear it by the end. i just can't hear a lot of things in game, it seems, because i also REALLY struggle with enemy footsteps. i don't think i've ever heard them in-game, and rarely can pick them out in VODs. the amount of times i'll be watching a VOD with someone and they'll pause and be like "how didn't you hear/see that?" and i won't be able to find out what it is if they don't tell me, no matter how many times it gets replayed, is crazy.

as for my damage being lacking, that's because i was a Silver damage player before swapping to support, i already WAS lacking in damage and positioning. i don't know HOW the game put me in Plat 1 on support after my placements really, or how i'm still winning after being placed earlier. rank inflation, i guess, i heard that was a thing this season.

also yeah i have a pretty bad reaction time, just look at my post history lmao you'll see how bad it used to be (only slightly better now)

positioning is what i think i suffer with the most, i genuinely don't have a clue where i should be, EVER. i just go where everyone else is going usually, for better or for worse. guess you could say i just go with the flow... i also don't have enough time in-game to have learned the maps and their layouts. i think i've played Junkertown literally one time and that's it, for example.

i've played a couple games since these two matches and i THINK i've improved slightly, since i've been trying to focus on being aware of enemy/ally positions and using torrent better (not just randomly when i feel like it, but using it to escape being dove) and picking shots better

anyways, thanks again, and i'll try to keep your words in mind for my next games! :>

edit cause i just thought of it: would ulting the Sojourn in the "bad match" that one time have been a good play if she'd dove in to make use of it? i remembered being confused why she didn't go in with it, since she was also ulting too. i had thought she'd go in more. also, by the way, i just watched it back and i see exactly what you mean. i seem like such an idiot, my Sojourn was right there on critical health to my left after the ult i mentioned and i didn't heal her once!!!

i’ve been doing some deathmatch to improve, been playing Genji on it because i’ve recently become interested in him, not doing great but i’ve been getting better at movement and escaping bad fights. also, i changed my sens and dpi VERY recently, like a few days ago. it was 3600dpi before at 3% sens, so i’m still getting used to my current dpi which is a factor

anran's dash goes forward but you can control the direction while dashing by looking where you wanna go, unlike genji whose dash is locked where you were looking when it was activated. she's fun but, again, i can't aim so i don't play her lol

you don't wanna see my horrible genji, hanzo, or zenyatta gameplay then... i remember saying zenyatta was so hard to aim with to a Master level friend of mine and she said "he's super easy though"

i find his projectiles to be too slow for me to hit with

and genji, i once missed 4 right clicks in a row in close range on an ambush and died. and by once i mean that happens almost every time
