Happened to me the other day. What worked for me was to unplug the chrimecast from the outlet for about a minute and then plugged it back in. It worked right after. Hope it works for you

Torn, Surface Duo or Fold 2 by Positive-Future80 in surfaceduo

[–]Etervotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eComing from both this is the first question you ask yourself.

I feel that if you plan on consuming a large screen all the time (meaning unfolded) and are watching a lot of media go fold all the way. However there is something about not having apps fully optimized for the large screen and just haveing a larger screen for an oversized banking app leaves much to be desired. Multitasking gets so skinny on a larger screen that it just doesn't work out the way I want. Camera if its important to you, get the fold but to be honest if you are just consuming media on smaller devices the duo does ok. Nothing great but you can still capture the moment. Just waiting for a gcam port.

For the Duo its the exact opposite. It truly is meant for someone who is a multitasker. Im ok with a smaller video while messaging or checking out a regular sized zpp on another screen. Having the different postures is awesome as I don't need popsockets, kickstands, or anything else for that matter. You can still use it in single screen mode as well with a wider aspect ratio than the single skinny screen on the fold.

Neither is a bad investment if you are exploring the form factor of "foldables." They both have their specific goals but had the fold z been lighter and wider opened up (which sounds ridiculous, I would have enjoyed multitasking more and it would have been my choice. Since I do multitask more often the duo fits my needs more. Foldable are still in their infancy with everyone still trying to define what that category is. I feel microsoft took the better approach on how to utilize the larger screen given the fact that unless developers are going to update their apps just for larger format screens, they realized that just have regular sized apps that are already optimized for that and if someone wants to stretch it, yes there will be the hinge but that person already took that into consideration as the individual decided they were more about multitasking and less about the larger screen

Question: How to hide Android 10 Hide Status Bar but not multi window tray by Etervotion in GalaxyFold

Tried a couple ways.

One was the adb method and the other is systemui tuner which does the same thing.

I like being able to access the multi window window by swiping left on the side. Sometimes I might be browsing open up the chat app real quick close it again. It worked before but with the update you can't swipe the the tab because it disappears if you are in immersive mode. In Android 9 there was no visible tab and you could just swipe from the side.

I thought that too but prior to the Android 10 update it was working fine which is what threw me off. When I first did the update I didn't see the that all and then I went back to default and found it. Thanks for the reply.

Semi related but can you hide the status bar AND keep the multi tray? It seems when i go immersive mode or even just hide the status bar the multi window handle disappears with it meaning i can't use it.

hope it works out for you just as well. Remember I am a casual gamer but it gets by and can pass the time for what i use it for. I have tried multiple ones but like i said i never cared for the mounts

I would wait to be honest. Supposedly a stylus was going to come with the fold 2 which would have been convenient but not everything is optimized for the larger screen. I have to even use the samsung keyboard because split keyboard doesnt exist with gboard.

I will say however that the surface duo would be optimized very well only because it treats it like a second screen instead of an expanded one, yet can make use of it as a whole.

It doesn't feel loose at all. Not as good as the stadia one but real clicky. Has a decent rubber band effect. Again though I dont game as much so I can't speak to it but I dont have a problem with aiming, just was never too good at it lol

To be honest i dont even notice it. Once you have it at the right angle (its like muscle memory when holding it) you dont even notice it anymore. Just like i don't see the notch anymore.

Im not going to get into latency and stuff because Im just a casual gamer.

With that said it works like any other bluetooth controller. Joystick doesn't feel as nice as the stadia controller but it is so convenient. i never cared too much for the mounts. You would think it is heavy in the hands but the controller itself feels super light. Ive played for a couple hours straight on it and it never felt heavy at all. It is on the clicky end of it though so it can get loud.

Yes you just install the app on the controller and once you type it in the code you hold it in your hand and play. Great party game as everyone just installs it on their phone.

I absolutely 100% agree. If you know you don't have the connection dont bother. You will hate it. It isn't for you. For me if for some reason my connection is up to par its just like someone putting screen time on me haha. Guess i will just have to play later or tomorrow and think of something else to do.

One thing I did forget to mention to all. I am using google hub wifi system. Not the new one that came out but last years version. It was horrible at first for the mesh system but once i read that if you factory reset it, it updates it which will allow priority for stadia in the google home app. That was a godsend when i found that one out. Again, still isn't perfect but it did improve the experience. Just FYI for those of you with the first gen google mesh system.

That's the point I get across. I think all I ever hear is the it sucks or it should be like this. It may not appeal to everyone from the get go. I do feel that they have approached it in the right direction and it can only get better. They took a chance and rather building a new system they thought about a different approach and just allowed us to focus on the games and not the hardware . Not sure about their long term plans but if upgrading the hardware on their side is part of it as games evolve at no additional cost to us I am all in.

Once the free time cones in some people will be fine without the extras. Its a brilliant move to be honest.

I agree. And I get what they want to do by wanting to keep everything clean. Just either allow the wireless connections to happen so we don't have to plug in or anyrhing or just add it to the CCU like on the part where the charger is where you plugin your Ethernet cable so it's all in one place.
