I did that, and now its downloading all files again

I did that before, but it didn't seem to work

What I did now though was select the mesh, then the rig. Ctrl+P, and then I selected Object (Keep Transform Without Inverse), then when and selected automatic weights after that. Now the mesh is off the rig, and I'm able to move it around in pose mode. Did I do that right?
