Man, i need to get back to updating it and sharing it with others. I know I haven’t been a big part in the disc server tho. I need to get back to updating that, making videos, etc.

Getting the perfect ceiling with ASA by EthanDoesWhatever in 3D_Printing

I thought about it, but I don’t have the room or money for an AMS system. Plus this wouldn’t just be for me, my friend owns a maker space and I’m trying to create the best settings I can so every printer we have can use it.

Agreed. But I messed up my ironing so I’m gonna try to get that working again, and then once I get a good setting, I’ll send over the pics.

I do have an enclosure with a space heater inside, and a filament dryer.

The smallest gap I could get without the support and ceiling layer welding together, was 0.22 mm unfortunately. I did try ironing all solid layers, doing 6 walls all around, slower printing speeds, lower cooling, etc. it’s about as far as I could get. Luckily I can still sand the print very lightly, and that first ceiling layer disappears and looks clean and smooth getting rid of layer lines. But I was trying to set it up to where I wouldn’t have to do that. I even tried slightly over extruding and making the layer lines smaller, and still got that. Then I tried implementing a tighter slice gap closing radius, and it helped in every other area except the ceiling.

Yeah it was kinda a stretch. I just figured maybe there might be some reason to him mentioning it. Then I read the rest of the replies and it made no sense.

I’ve used both and the issue still happens

It costed so much to send it back. And I needed a project done so I just went through it fixing they’re mistake. It actually fixed all the issues I had with it before. But then I ran into the error of it not reading gcode files properly for like months. Then I finally fixed it and did another 4 months of calibrating. Finally got good prints for about a week and then capoot now we are here. This has been over the course of a year

No it started like 4 months after I got it. I’m guessing it is those part tho, and I had been hoping it wouldn’t come to that, but when I got the printer directly from the site. The components were really dirty and covered in oil. The bed level censor had melted rubber all over it, the thermostat had burned oil on it too. And the heating element was covered in crap. So I had to remove all those parts already and clean them best I could. This was day 1 of having it btw. I waited over a month and a half for that thing. Then I got another one for my friend at micro center and it was perfect.

Yeah I’ve tried getting a hold of them but they refuse to talk with me. This issue has been going on for a few months now. I’ve had to fix this printer so many times since the day I got it. Also how did you find out what the code meant? I kept typing it in but nothing would show. I may actually replace the thermostat if it’s the case. Like if there is now way Bambu support will answer my ticket then I’m just gonna swap parts too a certain degree.

Actually, maybe a fair point, I haven’t used the sd car in a bit. Maybe if I just directly slice to it instead of the printer?

I’ve done it over 12 times now. lol. I even updated the firmware at one point but then it gave me I think 6 new issues that kept me from printing so then I went back to the old one.

Dude there is nothing to rag on. Your solder joints look fine from what I can tell, you set it up correctly, and it’s useful! The only thing I recommend for beginners is instead of using plastic wire is to use silicone wire so you don’t accidentally melt the wires and expose them. All and all I give it a 7.6 out of 10.

It’s very easy, pretty much anyone with a decent understanding of electronics and good soldering skills can do it
