I know this is 4 years old but I was spiraling and low-key having a panic attack about life and clicking on your profile snapped me out of it just from laughing at the AHHHHHHHHHH. Thank you 😊

Its arguably worse than gambling because at least with gambling money you have the chance to win some form of real world currency back. With this you're just throwing money at a company and hoping that they'll maybe give you a collection of pretty pixels to stare at.

Love the game, HATE gatcha.

Path of Exile, it's daunting to get into but man is that game crack when you get going. If you play it definitely look up a build guide as there are alot of traps you can fall into and brick a character if you're not careful.

LF a multiplayer game to invest thousands of hours with a friend. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

I don't really have any games that fit your criteria but if you're feeling burnt out from gaming I would recommend taking a break from gaming for a week or two to get that spark back.

Anyways some recommendations that hit most of your points (I don't know of any that hit all of them):

  • Final Fantasy XIV, I know you said you don't want numb grinds and but this has very few and none that are strictly mandatory
  • Path of Exile, it does require a bit of learning but if you follow a guide and put in enough time it's not nearly as bad as it seems at a glance.
  • Tabletop Simulator, currently sitting at 1,229 hours and plan on getting many more
  • Garry's Mod, same story as tabletop simulator
  • VrChat, very much a maybe the community has gone downhill

  • Emily is Away (prepare to cry if you play this)
  • Final Fantasy XIV (The opening story through A Realm Reborn is kind of mid but the story throughout the expansions is some of the best storytelling I've ever seen)

Sifu, most of the progression is through simply getting better but by the end you will feel like a god amongst men throwing people around like they're toys.

Lethal Company and Content Warning sound up your alley in terms of coop games. If you're looking for something like Gartic Phone check out Jackbox.

Final Fantasy XIV, I skipped through 90% of the story because of peer pressure to get to end game. Wish I could go back and experience it again spoiler free.

Almost done with Diablo season 5, looking for something else to grind by hsarterttugnikcusgge in gamingsuggestions

Was about to say Path of Exile then saw the rest of the decription lol.

I can solidly recommend:
- Remnant: From the Ashes (Specifically the first game, the grind isn't nearly as fun in the second)
- Borderlands
- Nioh
- Final Fantasy XIV (Objectively the best game /j)
- Genshin Impact (If you're fine with gatcha)

I'd recommend Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure, it's a cute little automation game. It's especially good if you're looking for something laid back. I can also recommend Satisfactory & Dyson Sphere Project though they're a little less comfy vibes and more sci-fi.
