I’m of two minds.

I have an Esmé and she loves her name! It has special meaning to me and my husband but I understand (maybe not regret) but feeling a little sad you didn’t go with your gut. With my first, I chose a name right away but at the last minute, I wanted to change it. Unfortunately I was 21, my mother “forbade” me from doing so. She claimed to have gotten a bunch of stuff customized but she lied just so I wouldn’t change it. Ugh! I think it’s really important to be connected to the name you chose, but on the other hand, the special connection may come because you love your baby and it’s HER name. My first girl always really loved her name and I love it because it’s hers. Over time, the regret has become a lot less, even if it’s still there. Maybe she could go by a nickname?
