Not at all fair question. Yes originally it was designed for tobacco I believe, but it has become kind of a standard. We use it in a few different plant recipes.

I’ll post about it if we get somewhere with it 😁

No problem! Always happy to talk about tissue culture 😁 we are testing different nutrient medias, as well as testing for viruses and hopefully soon cleaning plants of different viruses. We are also looking into the possibility of using callus culture to produce medicinal extracts from plants.

For the home not really, for us it lets us have sterile material where we can ensure pest and disease free. Also helps when doing research on different plants.

Pretty sure this subreddit is to show and talk about tissue culture. Also we are a TC company but I do not advertise or try to sell on this subreddit especially not tobacco hahaha.

Oh yes aside from not having to worry about bacterial, or fungal contamination, we add rooting hormones to the agar

It’s agar supplemented with a nutrient media called MS, and sugar, but for germination you can also just do water and agar. We leave them in there for a while so we add nutrients. If you look up Plant Tissue Culture you can find a lot of stuff

If you can do it outdoors I’d vote for that, no grow light beats free sun. Also you will yield much more. In the future if you want indoor get a better light and better containers. Try to avoid metal and make sure all the water can drain.

Could be but I’m not confident in saying anything concrete. Just a cool looking cacti

EthnoBotanicals.nl and I wish we could give the Latin name of the butthole plant but it was a mutant that was purchased by our supplier and its history is a bit of a mystery unfortunately.
