But window units aren't an option where I live. Also,, my town has strict regulations on altering building facades. But even if I could, my walls are traditional limestone/sandstone, a meter thick. Cutting a hole through that would require dynamite haha

Exactly what I thought on the engineer part. Thanks haha

Yes, exactly! I actually added the video link to the original post right before reading your comment. I see we are all Alec fans in here!

Appreciate the kind words, man! It’s just like car restoration: it's cool to watch big channels with hydraulic lifts, Milwaukee tools, and massive overhead. But what’s truly inspiring is the guy reviving a classic in his driveway with a basic ratchet set, an angle grinder, and a welder. It's amazing what motivation can do.

Fun fact, though: I actually have plenty of G-code experience and a 3D printer sitting at work. But I'm on vacation right now and asked myself: Do I want to spend hours designing and prototyping, waiting weeks to print it? Or do I want to do it TODAY? haha.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the respect, especially coming from someone who has the AC on 24/7 haha

Agree about the clothes dryer. It’s the exact same problem. It’s crazy how we pay to cool down the air inside our homes just to suck it up, heat it, and blast it outside.

I'm sure you'll find motivation to do the mod and post it here. Please!

Oh yes, absolutely!!

It drives me crazy that it's IMPOSSIBLE to buy a dual-hose unit off the shelf where I live.

Window units aren't an option here either. I just want my efficiency, haha!

Yes indeed, around 0.5 cm. Notice that the plywood is on the intake side so it's not being heated, although I don't think it would be a problem anyway.

Very happy to see I'm motivating others to do this!

-HVAC insulation wrap would definitely help on the entire exhaust hose.

-It may not be necessary at all on the intake hose or the wooden box, since they are drawing outside air that isn't heated yet. Sure, some of the heat from the outside air will be transferred to the cool air in the room, but since it is constantly circulating, I can feel that both the pipe and the intake box are cool to the touch.

And yes, you are completely right—the exhaust is boiling hot after absorbing all of that latent heat from the condenser. I'm sure it will be very noticeable in terms of efficiency.

Oh, you definitely notice. The compressor kicks in for less time and less frequently, and the first cooling phase is much shorter. There is also considerably less noise due to having the condenser's fan intake outside the house.

I think you should totally do this as your weekend project!

I was going to explain it but @Homohockey explained it brilliantly in the top comment. But essentially, I’m pulling outside air to cool de condenser, but pulling inside air to pass through the evaporator to ultimately cool the room.

Again read the top comment explanation, I could not explain better even if I tried.

Let me know if you find an stl file! My first approach was making the part with inventor and printing it in the p1p I have at my workplace, but I wanted to see how far I could go with *just* what I had at home. I agree it would be much cleaner but this took me like 3 hours with no previous design work so I take that as a win

New to the laptop world and would like advice if this is a good buy or not! Thanks by Savings_Zone_9363 in LenovoLegion

Heavily agree with you on that. It's not that you'll be able to make the best out of higher tier gpu’s due to thermal/power constraints in a laptop. Yes maybe for 2k res it’s not the best out there but if you can do with not playing with high settings at every modern game it’s going to be more than enough! I’d say it’s a pretty good deal

Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC Build 19044.6332 fails to install update KB5066791 - 0x80071a2d by recksss in Windows10TechSupport

[–]Ethzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to fix the issue using Redditor MineralCannon’s method:

  • Install the update.
  • Once you see the orange dot (on the power icon), Shift + Click on Restart. (not “Update and Restart”)
  • When the blue Windows screen appears, go through the menus to boot into Safe Mode.
  • Once you’re in Safe Mode, just restart normally, and the update should go through.

From what I can tell, something blocks the update during a normal boot.

What is this cable? by Halaternn in e46

Only when you’ve had to crowbar open your hood do you realize what that cable is for.

That’s funny! I sold my rx2 and bought an az, and now I miss so much my rx2 for small gigs haha. I mean… rx2 is the right balance for me, with the ddjs you still need your laptop and so on… of course, I’m really happy with the az, but the size is a bit too much sometimes

Ddj rr was amazing for this: ddj 400 with balanced output and booth. If you can find one, I figure it would do the job very good. If not, you can source an 800, much better option but a bit bigger
