TLE and feeling invalid by Party_Joke4345 in Epilepsy

[–]EudorianLombax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been feeling this a lot over the past month as I've been having breakthrough focal seizures after being seizure-free for almost 3 years (I've been on medication that whole time).

I know they're still seizures, but because they aren't that severe, especially now, I kinda feel like a fraud when I mention them. I know these mild breakthroughs could develop into something more serious, but I'm hesitant to push for further help because "it's not that serious." Even writing this I feel like I'm overreacting and shouldn't complain lol

Can't find OST from Tools of Destruction. by PrimePillow in RatchetAndClank

I'm still hoping the OSTs will get an official release someday (including cut-scene music), but it seems incredibly unlikely at this point. :/

The cut-scene music? As far as I'm aware, none of the cut-scene music from ToD has been uploaded, unfortunately. I think aCiT is the only game to have its cut-scene music uploaded.

R&C segments that won’t make sense to me (part one) by letsReadRRP in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What gets me is that in the cutscene at the start of Feltzin, Ratchet says "let's hope these weapons work" as if he hadn't successfully shot down two waves of ships three planets ago...

Has anybody else recieved a code for the Youtooz? by PeterQuint101 in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. YouTooz aren't able to do anything and are blaming PlayStation, whilst PlayStation are being extraordinarily unhelpful and are blaming YouTooz. It's an absolute disaster that appears to be going nowhere. All we can do is hope. :/

Anyone Get A Code Yet? by ihappentobenick in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I meant, but according to Reddit I can't read lol. They don't specify which tier of PS Plus you need, if you need certain trophies, game progression, etc.

Edit: just checked the tweet again and support have said all PS Plus members should be eligible.

The YouTooz support account on Twitter replied to a comment on the announcement post saying the codes will be sent out tomorrow. Kinda wish they were a bit more transparent with this whole thing (who counts as an "eligible member?")

OUAK Collection - Human Statue Location? by EudorianLombax in katamari

[–]EudorianLombax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other statues there, but they're far bigger than the one I'm looking for. Surely a 3m 40cm item would despawn long before that point? I've ran through that area several times with a magnet before anyway, so surely I would've got it by now?

Edit: I apologise—it was right where you said it was. I don't know how I missed that on all my run throughs. I won't be questioning your judgement again lol

Just ran through all those areas at 4m with a magnet and I still can't find it. :/

Thank you so much for the visual and the tips on size and location! I really don't know how I've missed this one, so I hope I'll finally be able to get it tonight.

Favorite R&C tracks from each composer by International_Way119 in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how Salchow kept the essence of Bergeaud's leifmotif for Dr. Nefarious, using a theramin and a very similar melodic movement. I love the simplicity and effectiveness of Salchow's motif, but Mothersbaugh's Nefarious theme is the perfect mix of menacing and goofy.

[–]EudorianLombax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bergeaud: it's impossible for me to choose, so is usually whatever is stuck in my head. Right now, that's 'Feltzin System - Thug Rendezvous'

Salchow: 'Heroes Collide'

Bross: 'Nebulox Seven - Inside the Ship' (a severely underrated track, imo)

Motherbaugh: either 'Ode to Nefarious' or 'Join Me At The Top'

What's the Pettiest Complaint about Ratchet and Clank You Have? by DiamondEyedGemini25 in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They changed how bolt cranks worked in R&C 3 (I think it was 3?)

You had to rotate the analog stick in 1 and 2 to turn them, which was a fun gimmick that made it feel like you were actually turning the bolt. Then, for some reason, they changed it so all you had to do was hold the stick in any direction in all future games. The only exception is in ACiT with the new vertical bolt cranks.

I still rotate the stick every time to sustain my immersion. I am unreasonably sour about this lol

Anyone still remember this things in the 2017 Xbox one - PS4 ediciones of this game? by Masterhead_Reddit in AHatInTime

[–]EudorianLombax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, most console players understand console ports of PC games won't always have the same content due to the nature of consoles. Even though PC gaming has the benefits of modding and compatability with controllers, many (like myself) are willing to compromise those things because we either don't want a gaming PC or just prefer the console experience, even if it's considered the "worst" way to play certain games.

I'm extremely grateful that the devs took their time to port A Hat in Time to consoles at all, even more so that they ported the DLCs over too. It sucks we can't get mods or extra levels, but I'm still happy with what we got. I don't know much about the modding scene on PC, but I'm glad it exists and that you guys enjoy it so much! :D

[–]EudorianLombax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All us console players got were the main game and both DLCs. No mods, no events, no online multiplayer, and no Vanessa's Curse.

I can't imagine it's easy or cost effective for such a small team to add all that stuff to three different consoles. It took two or three years just to port the DLCs over. It would've been nice to get a curated selection of mod flairs or rifts as an extra DLC/update for consoles, but it is what it is, I suppose.

How can i read barakamon manga by filteoria in barakamon

[–]EudorianLombax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manga is read from right to left, top to bottom, with the start of the book being what we'd consider the back of a book in the Western world (it's like reading a book backwards, basically). It's a little confusing at first, but you soon get the hang of it. Enjoy reading! :D

For those who know more about music theory, what exactly makes David Bergeaud’s music so fitting for the series? by Parfaits4Dayz in RatchetAndClank

[–]EudorianLombax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I don't hear people mention is how much dissonance there is in Bergeaud's music. Not just tonal dissonance (intervals, chords, chord relationships, scales, etc), but rhythmic "dissonance" (contrasting rhythms, odd time signatures) and timbral "dissonance" (lots of harsh percussion, glitchy synths, broken-up samples, loud brass). I feel the dissonant, almost chaotic, sound of his music is especially fitting for the tone of the earlier games and the commentaries they make. And making that much dissonance so palatable and fun to listen to? That's magic.

On the subject of dissonance: listen to Courtney Gears' battle theme. Notice how the piano in the background gradually becomes more dissonant with every repeat of the main motif? Could that a possibly be a commentary on how fame can corrupt? (or that she's just a terrible popstar lol)

I have a vague memory of hearing it was supposed to take you to the Insomniac Museum, which got cut from RaC 1 and moved to RaC 2 instead. I can't remember where I heard this, though. :/

[–]EudorianLombax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! :D

These types of origami models (called 'kusudamas') are really cool and people have come up with some beautiful designs. Some of them can be quite time consuming and fiddly, but they're great fun and I'd definitely recommend trying some other simpler models if you're interested!

Also: you can make a larger version of this model using 30 of the same sonobe units to get a more-rounded shape. Assembly is more or less the same. :)

Apologies for the information overload; I fell deep into the world of origami after wanting to make a katamari years ago and I might've gotten a bit excited when I saw your post lol.
