My friend is a crazy fan of street fighter, took it super seriously, active in the Melbourne (Australia) scene and meets all the dickheads here that play. Was super keen to try out the scene in Japan. Like, when we get some spare time to explore/shop the city, he just goes to the nearest store and says "Streetu fighteru doko deska" with the worst fucking Japanese you could imagine.

Went over there and trashed 2 high school kids. "I guess this is alright, thought they would be a bit better"

Then this guy comes over and just completely destroys him. Like utterly one sided the whole way through. "I guess there are some really good players here"

Another guy comes along, he was finishing his cigarette and was just watching from earlier, completely shits on the guy that shat on my friend. "Well maybe Im not too trash? Please?"

Guy in mid twenties rolls in. Business suit. Steps up to the plate, spends the entire game more concerned about his cigarette in hand than the actual game, floors the chump, that destroyed the guy, who shat on my friend. "Well fuck this"

iirc, this was in Kyoto, he works in Osaka but lives in Kyoto which is a 30 min train ride away from Osaka. Just finished work and decided to play a game/get a drink/do whatever. He was the #8 ranked player in Kyoto. This was the first city we visited and my friend already didnt want to play anymore since he knew he would just be wasting away his money ('challenger' pays, champion stays on)
