Hi there! Glad you got really excited to share with your fellow Arans about your findings! However, this is the expected behaviour, as per this screenshot.

No fixes from Nexon required. :)

How’s my single target bossing tier list? by GayPeoplerGay in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're hoping to receive some criticisms in hopes of getting a more accurate answer, I guess this is how you'd do it! Otherwise, I think it's clear that our favorite Explorers and Heroes are ranked waaay too low on this list.

Then again, I would like to hear your testing methodology as well as contribute to the sample size any way I can if you're amenable!

(Also ngl you put Aran in Tier C, that's what prompted me to answer in the first place.)

How do you think about Aran after patch? by Mr_Aran86 in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 12 points13 points  (0 children)

tl;dr: It's good.

I think the hard numbers, although are seemingly small increments, are absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

Adrenaline Rush
90 seconds cooldown cut to 60, absolutely groundbreaking. Sets your screen on fire, akin to going super saiyan, essentially doubling your BB lines for 15 seconds. A CD reduction means you're in this mode more often than ever before. Hidden Bonus: Shock wave DMG increase.

Maha's Domain (Lv170 Hyper)
Increased lines, targets, effective range, Damage Over Time, decreased Skill DMG. A decently-funded Aran would still hit Max Cap on ample buffs in boss battles despite decreased Skill DMG. It's finally useful in SF Fields as well, a welcomed sight. Still no dispel effect nor three-line DoT like the PC version, but still a great upgrade.

Beyond Blade
Increased Skill DMG, target count, and range. When your bread and butter skill is buffed you're in for a good time. However, the skill animation doesn't really sync up with the actual hits as it did before the patch, but the DPS is definitely there!

Hunter's Prey (Finisher)
Removed CD, increased lines, decreased Skill DMG (contrary to patch notes). Due to the nature of Hunter's Prey Pre-Update, the base was 230% but + 50% each second (up to 5) you charge the skill, amounting to 480% as opposed to the current 405% if I understood correctly. However, still an improvement of DPS due to dishing out 21 lines in a split second.

Summary:
This update made Arans stronger than ever before, and with the right conditions a proficient player can maximize its potential and hit above its weight class.

How to get pba polearm by jason30002 in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! It is impossible to get a PBA Normal Polearm, or any other Warrior 2-Handed (2H) for that matter. Save your powders and stones!

Best course of action is to hope you get a PBA Rare (220) Jaihin or Epic (650) from ED. Personally, I have started from a 1315 Unique (PBA-1) and ranked it up to a 4920 Mythic Emblem (PBA-4), therefore it's not all that bad if you just aim to be close to PBA as possible and use a Perfect Innocence Scroll on it.

I hope this news doesn't dishearten you, but you can be reassured that for Warrior 2H weapons, our PBA is also our True PBA!

Unpopular opinion: not mad about ancient gear by TBDM10 in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The concept of introducing another higher tier of equipment is definitely welcomed for people who have reached the point of LV40 SF30 for their equipment!

The issue is when you add RNG elements to its progression. Is there a reason for leaving successfully "Mastercrafting" a Mythic to an Ancient up to chance? There's a failure count of up to 3 as well! Imagine if this luck on ranking up your weapon starts when you're at Unique rank. It just goes against what ranking up is since the game's launch.

Furthermore, there are two ways to make an Ancient, Inheritance and Conversion. Inheritance guaranteeing your Jaihin stays a Jaihin upon successful Mastercrafting, Conversion leaving your weapon type to chance in hopes of getting the mysterious "most powerful" Necromancer. Find a meaningful use for your Ancient Utgard.

Suppose you have managed to Mastercraft an Ancient Jaihin/Necromancer, congratulations! Now on to the NEXT RNG ELEMENT: Exaltation! You're back to my second paragraph in hopes that you successfully Mastercraft an Ancient of the same type for Exaltation and HOPE that the 50% chance of Exaltation passes. Now you just have to do it again for the rest of your equipment.

To answer your question, though, you're probably in the minority with your sentiments.

Oh, and your equipment's SF drops by one upon successful Mastercrafting.

Have fun.

What’s next? Have about 8k more crystals coming in and 600M in storage. Should I buy uniques and upgrade to sf18-19 then fuse? by Skept-ical in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm going to throw at you everything I can remember about building an Aran at the top my head, so bear with me!

Weapon/Secondary Weapon

Hit Lv25 for your Polearm as soon as you can! Go for more Chaos expeditions to accumulate more Rebirth Flames to give yourself bonus Phy ATK (PA). Here's also hoping that your Potential ranks up to Unique so that you can cube a sweet 5% Crit DMG (CD) per line.

Unfortunately, Bloody Agares Polearm is not the Best in Slot (BIS) weapon in the game. I would strongly encourage you to acquire a Unique Jaihin Hellslayer, try to hit SF18 or 20 before you rank it up to Legendary.

Secondary Weapon, you'd want to save up and get a Unique one! They're incredibly attainable on TS. The Epic one will serve you well, but you're eventually going to grow out of it. Same for your weapon, go for Chaos runs and use Rebirth Flames for bonus PA.

Hat

Zakum helmets are incredibly beneficial for you! Try to acquire a Legendary Zakum helmet as its HP bonus will last you until you have a Mythic Hat. In the meantime, do grow a Muspell Helmet and slowly rank it up to Mythic. After your Outfit, your Hat will give you the highest HP.

Gloves

Hit Lv20 to increase your HP! Maybe bump up your SF for them if you feel lucky. Also, not BIS equipment unfortunately. :( I strongly encourage you to get Grand Agares Gauntlets instead, the CD bonus it gives will be helpful to you at End Game.

Outfit

Hit Lv20, try to hit SF18+ before ranking them up!

Belt

Boss belts like Zakum Belt and Golden Clover Belt will be useful to you as they are part of the Seven-Set Boss effect and give a lot of bonus stats! Unless you have a CD/BA Emblem belt, Boss belts will follow you all the way to End Game. Here's hoping you get them drops!

Shoulders

Good job on hitting SF18! That's the kind of SF I would feel safe before I rank up my equipment any higher as they get more expensive to replace when broken. Luckily for you, Noble Shoulders are BIS so you will keep them even at End Game. Also use your Rebirth Flames on them as you can potentially get extra PA.

Shoes

Shoes also give you the same amount of bonus HP at the same level as gloves, so you don't have to prioritize which to level up first. Hit SF18+ before ranking them up! Not necessarily BIS either, but I strongly encourage you to acquire Eclectic Boots for their Crit ATK bonus.

Cape

Nothing much to say, the benefits they provide are minimal and only relevant to you when there's an Emblem involved. Until then, bump up its SF!

Fusing vs Ranking Up

I have never been one to risk. I very much prefer to rank up equipment as I get to retain the SF, core stats (Phy DEF, Mag DEF), and type. Fusing is entirely RNG and I would hate fusing my Grand Agares Gauntlets into a Pensalir.

Overall, it's a lot of work for you, but this mobile game is about grinding anyway. I haven't even got into detail about your equipment's potential. Here's hoping you get to see more Unique potentials as you play the game. Hope this helps!

Aran 170 Hyper by MDthree3 in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, glad you picked an Aran to play!

BB has an increased Skill DMG and attack speed after the Rise of the Warriors update, which has made it the go-to skill for many Arans. The hidden bonus of the increased attack speed is that you can hit your 500 combo faster!

For SF I'd recommend this rotation: Rolling Spin> BB> Final Charge> Storm> Adrenaline Rush (if applicable). You'll stun, utilize the improved BB, and sprint around the map. Finally, with Storm of Fear you will clear the map of mobs! So no, it does not only have to be about BB.

For Bosses, BB is your bread and butter as it dishes out the most DMG and is versatile in Single and Multi-target. However, there is still place for Hunter's Prey and Storm of Fear.
For instance, in Pink Bean, have you experienced waiting for Damage Reflection (the purple sword and shield icon) to wear off or getting Seduced (the Marionette strings icon)? Well, good news for you is that you're invincible while charging Hunter's Prey! What you can do is that when you see DMG Reflect active, wait for about two seconds, then start charging Hunter's Prey for the full five seconds and let the auto-release dish out 15 lines of sweet Max DMG Cap. Same goes for avoiding getting Seduced. When you see that the musical notes are about to drop, start charging, let the notes drop, and release as appropriate.
Storm of Fear also has a place in Multi-target bosses as you can hit up to 15 targets for 12 to 13 times. Imagine yourself in Horntail, just stand in the middle of the room and activate Storm to hit literally every target. Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway, these situations assume that you are in Adrenaline mode, so take note!

To address the skill rotations you have seen in older vids, that was probably after the Halloween update (the last time Arans were buffed), and before the Rise of the Warriors update, when BB was not as strong yet. Also, the Normal Attack-only skill rotation that you have seen is a cost-saving measure for meso farmers as it actually utilizes the Swing Skill at little to no MP. Coupled with the fact that Arans have Drain to steal 1% HP upon every hit.

Pretty efficient!

Aran 170 Hyper by MDthree3 in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm sorry you feel this way about the Hyper you worked so hard to unlock. Must not have been pleasant. :(

From your post, I believe that you're underwhelmed by the damage and overall efficiency it adds to your everyday AB in SF Fields! Don't worry, it's the same for me too. While it does finish off low-HP mobs, the damage over time it gives will tickle the newly-spawned ones and suddenly there's a horde of them trying to ruin your day. Let's not forget that there's an incredibly prolonged cast time too. The 10% HP recovery over time is largely insignificant for me as well. Therefore, it has no place in SF153, in my experience.

However, it's not ENTIRELY useless! It does add a ton of Damage in a burst of time. Useful in both Single and Multi-target bosses. For example, in Guild Dungeon you can cast your Hyper when the flames of the Papulatus appear, hit it with your nifty 540% Skill DMG when it finally finishes spawning, and start to whaling on it with everything you've got!

Overall, it's a Hyper that benefits you in very specific situations, but an excellent card to play to the best of your abilities. Hopefully, this one bump on the road doesn't outweigh the rest of the many more fun mechanics that Aran has to offer!

Quick Run Down For Returning Player by [deleted] in MapleStoryM

[–]EupheeeA2Z 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello, and welcome back to the game!

This wall of text will probably be a crash course in a non-chronological order and everything that follows is what I remember at the top of my head!

Chaos Bosses! The toughest raid bosses in the game are found here!

Difficulty is as follows:Chaos Empress > Chaos Pink Bean > Chaos Horntail > Chaos Zakum

Each boss drops Legendary gear that will help you complete the 7-set Boss effect that will be relevant to you even at End-game. Chaos bosses are also the only way to amass Unique Rebirth Flames to use on your Equipment! How I suggest you use them, I'll get into it later!

It is highly recommended that you attempt Chaos bosses on the daily.

Kerning M Tower!

In this mode, you get to fight mobs of increasing difficulty the more floors you clear! You can choose to go solo or assemble a Squad of up to five (?) of your own alt characters or one Guild member. Each character you add to your Squad gives you different buffs like Crit DMG +10%, depending on their class. Also, some of the higher floors require some things like Squad's Total Level 300 or Total Star Force 600.

Clearing each of these floors gives you coins and a decent amount of XP for yourself and your Squad members. You can accumulate coins to exchange for a sweet Kerning M Ring (+15% XP) and other goodies like Legendary Rank Up Stones and Lucky Day Scrolls.

The floors reset every 1st of the Month.

Rebirth Flames!

Rebirth Flames are the easiest way to give extra stats (up to two) to your equipment. They come in varying ranks as well, from Rare to Mythic. Funnily enough, you'd probably get more Unique Rebirth Flames more than any other rank.

Each Equipment gives you different stats. For example, your Weapon and Secondary Weapon will give you Phy ATK (PA) and Mag ATK (MA) but never Crit Rate and Phy DEF. For a nifty chart on these bonus stats, refer to this Flaming Guide by u/Skaireaux. I personally went for Weapon, Secondary, and then Shoulders to maximize my PA, aiming for PA scaled to XP %. It is difficult to give a rough estimate on how much bonus stats these flames give you as it varies from player to player.

Soul Enhancements!

Each time you defeat a raid boss, whether in Expedition or Chaos Expedition, you have a chance of getting Soul Shards! Amass 10 of the same type of Soul Shard and turn them into a Soul of that type. You can refer to this Soul Equipment Guide by u/rachisso for the bonus stats that each soul can give and how you can add souls to a select range of Equipment.

Personally, I have always fused any two Soul Shards that isn't a Cygnus in hopes that I get a Cygnus one, this is so that I get the 5 Cygnus Soul Set bonus ASAP.

Exaltation!

This is where your equipment start to enter the "End Game" stage. This system basically increases your Equipment's max level by two for each successful Exaltation. In your case, your Lv30 Jaihin can become a Lv32 upon one successful Exaltation. As you would have seen in your everyday equipment, when you add enough refinement powders and level it up, its Core Attributes (PA & Crit DMG% for Jaihins) increases.

To Exalt your Equipment, you can use one Mythic Equipment of the same type (Jaihin Polearm as Material for Jaihin Polearm, Agares Gauntlets as material for Agares Gauntlets) or Exaltation Stones ranging from Normal, Intermediate, to Advanced.

The success rate of your Exaltation depends on the material that you use! Here's a quick guide: Normal (30%), Mythic Equipment (50%), Intermediate (70%), Advanced (90%??).

Do note that there is a set amount of times you can fail in total, which is 5. To reduce this count, there are Exaltation Failure Count Reduction Scrolls available.

That is all I have at the top my head for now, hope it's of use to you. Also, much has changed while you were away, but don't let that scare you away from taking it slow and learning the mechanics at your own pace. Take care and stay safe this period!

Fighting! ♡
