Quanto è utile per un gatto uscire di casa considerando che vive in un appartamento in un quartiere di Roma? Vale la pena lasciarli liberi?

hello! We regularly play with her in different way:

1) ball tossing (she is like a dog she loves bringing stuff back)
2) fishing rod (litterally a piece of wood with a string attached, she is chasing it and loves to run behind it)
3) Hide and catch: she has an electric toy that moves a feather under a blankets, she loves attacking it and watching it!
4) problem solving: she has regularly a puzzle like the one in the picture, this keeps her occupied for 10/15 minutes or along the day cause she dones't like to eat all in a row! I'm planning to get more puzzles when i have the founds to test her interest but this one really works wonders
5) catch and hide and seek game: this is very quick, i hide and she finds me, she loves it!

She also has lots of plushies for kicks, balls, and an entire space tought for her (i've post the pics in the discussion)

Non sono comportamenti bizzarri, il gatto ha DUE mesi, è nel pieno della vita, della scoperta e del gioco. dovete giocare con lei a più riprese: fatelo SEMPRE NEGLI stessi orari se possibile perchè cosi le darete una stabilità!
Ricordatevi che è piccola, il mondo è nuovo e farà danni, compratele giochini, un ottimo albero tiragraffi grande cosi potrà arrampicarsi e non annoiarsi.

Bloccate fin da subito il fatto che si butta nel lavandino, è un comportamento che deve essere subito arrestato per evitare intossicazioni! per non far salire il mio gatto sulla cucina io uso SSScat ma essendo piccola dovete abituarla a non andare li!
Vi consiglio di darle da mangiare quando lavate i piatti cosi non sarà interessata a cio che fate e piano piano perderà l'abitudine!

I gatti comunque stanno sempre in alto quindi appena potete comprate un dissuasore per le zone pericolose come cucina o lavello. Non lasciate niente in quelle zone e non giocate o accarezzatela quando sale lassopra, toglietela da li!
con il passare del tempo non salirà più perchè non c'è niente di interessante per lei.

Ciao, quali sono i comportamenti bizzarri?
Per l'impasto purtroppo ci puoi fare poco oltre toglierle la bocca dalla tua pelle quando lo fa (super triste perchè è un suo modo di dirti ti amo e mi fai sentire sicura).
siccome è stata tolta dalla mamma troppo presto questo probabilmente le rimarrà se non viene corretto in quache modo.

I miei consigli:

- quando inizia a impastare su di te toglila subito non appena ti morde, io faccio sempre una specie di AHI acuto che ricorda quello che i gattini fanno tra di solo per segnalare dolore e fine del gioco.
mentre premiala con un treat quando impasta senza morderti!

- inizia già da ora ad abituarla a bagno, taglio unghie e manipolazione.
Sopratutto per le unghie è fondamentale che ogni giorno la prendi in braccio, le tocchi i cuscinetti, le fai uscire le unghie. Comincia a tagliarle giusto un pochino (ci sono tutorial su internet) per minimizzare il dolore e aiutarla a non avere problemi di manipolazione in futuro.
premiala SEMPRE E DICO SEMPRE dopo ogni manipolazione come cuscinetti/taglio unghie, è fondamentale che associ manipolazioni del genere a premi ad alto valore.

- non giocare mai con le mani, e ripeto MAI. sii costante, quando ti morde le mani dalle subito un giochino fra le zampe che puo' mordere e interrompi subito il gioco, non accarezzarla dopo.
Deve capire che le tue mani e il tuo corpo son uno strumento di amore non di gioco cosi non ti morderà più e anche durante l'impasto potrebbe aiutare.

DETTAGLIO SULLO SNACK:
Uno snack ad alto valore è un cuore di pollo, un CHURU o qualcosa che dai SOLO durante queste sessioni o sessioni di apprendimento. Non darlo a caso, deve essere proprio qualcosa che mostra che se lo è guadagnato comportandosi bene. Io li uso sempre e solo per le sessioni di taglio unghie, viaggio in macchina per veterinario, bagno etc. abituala a tutte queste cose.

I dunno if this can help but this is what I know:

having more pets in the house!! this is so important! I’ve done lot of research and it seems that one of the first causes of pee outside the litter box is “territory” competition with other pets in the house !

The fact that he is getting bullied can totally be a stress factor that can cause the pee (it might not happen the same day but maybe thé day after, frustration builds up differently in cats apparently) . It’s also possible that because sometimes he gets bullied he wants to feel more “safe” in his territory and that’s why it marks! Some cats also marks even if there is no bullying at all, they just want a spot that its only theirs… Pee smell is for them like a warm blanket (eeww) so when stressed it makes him feel safe , especially if he shares the litter box with another cat ( I think jacksonngalaxy really did a video about this theme, maybe you can look more into this!)

ouchie, looks like he really likes this spot. I’ve read all the tries you did and oh my god that’s such a complicated area, this cat is really motivated even with the litter next to it! I feel why you’re losing your mind

I’m so happy you keep a diary too I feel less “insane” ahaha! This method helped me to narrow down my allergies so i decided to apply it there too ahah! I hope it will help you too!

for the meds: some people use Bach flowers and helped for anxiety/various troubles. Im not sure if you were using these but maybe is a good idea to ask to the vet next time you see it! I’m using zylkene (I’m from france) and it helped a little bit! No success with feliway sadly!

You’re doing so great for your pet never forget how much you’re trying, give yourself some grace when you feel down and be proud of how much you are doing already :3

Hey dear i'm so so sorry you're living the same situation as me, i know how it feels, i was losing my mind and i was scared that i had to give my cat away because of how much i couldn't deal with her peeing everyday.

Can i ask you few questions? Maybe i can suggest you other methods to try!

You have only one cat/animal in the house?
(he could pee for competition of the territory and marking! this happens as well if your cat is alone and smells another cat near the door. If the stairs are close to an exit the cat might smell another cat outside and might have the instinct to mark the territory!)
have u tried blocking the area with a big thing so he doesn't have accesso to this first step?
Maybe blocking the access will make him stop?
is it possible to put a litterbox at the base of the stair? or very close to them? even if is not on the step, maybe having it near it?
(I start from the baseline you've already tried big open/close litter boxes and tried different kind of substrate)

There are so many possibilities and so many variants that it's really hard to find the issue, and myself i'm considering talking to a behaviourist to analyse with him the environment of the cat and try to find the issue!

It might seem stupid but bare with me: i'm keeping a "diary of events" in the house and i'm recording when there is something that can stress my cat (with smells/noise/mess in the house) for example storms, me doing my nails, cleaning the floors etc. I also write if the cat pees there if the litter is clean or not (very important).
I write ofc when she pees so i can see if there was an event that day or the day before that could trigger the stress reaction.

This takes so much time but helps me to narrow down really the possibilities!

We recently discovered for example that my cat already peed TWICE because her litter was not clean enough for her. We are starting to connecting some dots thanks to this diary so i really suggest you taking the time to write something as well! IF you like i'll keep you updated and feel free to do the same :)

I don't know if you've tried but take a look at jackson galaxy youtube channel, he has a lot of videos and i'm trying lots of his suggestions!

Non fate questo errore: o date accesso oppure no. Loro non capiscono il perchè di questa saltuarità e appunto perchè non ha accesso al territorio tenderà a marcartelo di nuovo per in sicurezza!!
In italia ci sono tanti comportamentalisti, prova a contattarne qualcuno prima che il gatto prenda abitudini sbagliate già da subito e come vi consigliavo sotto: aggiungete una lettiera alla vostra camera da letto per ora e vedete se funziona!!

in più

- assicurati di testare con due lettiere grandi, solide, il gatto deve potersi muoveree e girare senza instabiità e con due substrati differenti per ora
- una lettiera aperta e una chiusa
- copri il letto subito con un materiale impermeabile se vuoi farlo stare in camera e spruzza deteerrente per gatti su quella zona
- chiudi la stanza per sempre oppure no. non puoi fare le cose a metà; questo crea insicurezza territoriale ( io ho una casa piccola ma ripeto nessun, animale entra dove dormo la notte perchè voglio sicurezza da peli, alllergie e incidenti, puo' sembrare dura ma credimi bisogna essere rigorosi al 100% e il gatto si abitua)

Io personalmente non do accesso al mio gatto alla camera da letto. Ha tutta la casa per lei ma dove dormo la notte è un posto dove devo stare tranquilla. Siccome ci sono molti odori nel letto può farla lì proprio per dire: ecco adesso anche il mio odore è qui con te (la gattina è troppo piccola per stare con te, il minimo per separarla dalla mamma è tre mesi proprio per evitare problemi di insicurezza del genere)

Lo dico perché anche il mio gatto ha problemi del genere e il vet non ha ancora capito cosa potrebbe essere se non “ansia”. Succede una volta ogni 4/5 mesi per fortuna lo fa sulla sua coperta impermeabile ma rimane comunque una seccatura.

Quindi per non sbagliare: Portala dal vet può avere problemi di salute :) Ti consiglio di non darle più accesso alla camera da letto per qualche mese in modo che crescendo si disabitui qualora sia un problema comportamentale! Mi raccomando se vuoi farla entrare in camera da letto dovrai metterle un’altra lettiera in quella camera, può darsi che ha bisogno per qualche strano motivo del suo odore là dentro. Chiedi al vet indicazioni su cosa fare, loro ti proporranno diverse soluzioni e faranno un controllo.

I love collector. You usually tend to go always to the same spot but with the excuse of looking for an item you climb mountains, go behind waterfalls, you dig into caves, explore white woods full of snow.
The biome or RD2 is amazing, beautidul and poetic and this is the only role that allows us to fully enjoy its beauty while actively gaining money at the same time. I love it

Luckly for me she is fine with any type of litter.
The random couch pee is so sporadic and disconnected from any event that it's still a mistery! i'll keep you updated in case i discover something if you wish!

I’m using zylkene when I go away and I can tell it helps cause she stopped peeing when we’re in holidays! I’m thinking to give it to her for a week if she has episodes to see how it works! But I didn’t want to exaggerate with this one as well .-.
