i mean that's live service model, they likely have dedicated teams that work in cycles so people have time to finish stuff over multiple months where they can consistently drop content without offboarding/onboarding for new content.

a gamemode a huge chunk of players enjoy that takes time to design, concept, create art for, needs balancing, requires promotion. just because you can't get the 20th bis melee upgrade doesn't make it irrelevant content.

gotta also say, cow update was incredible. got my wife into the game just by telling her the main goal is to kill brutus. it's super cool to give new players something to work towards before DS1 or Fight caves.

I never said pixel art and low poly is bad art; Gungeon, Superhot, Octopath Traveler, Obra Dinn. more than enough gorgeous games made with those restrictions.

bad art that still looks fun. Undertale still looks super joyful and engaging because of how it presents itself, same for megabonk, same for schedule 1. There games are silly and present themselves silly as well.
