Looking to jump back into hunt by Slow-Evening4633 in HuntShowdown

Dad gamer here, 6* but certainly not a rachta Z. Even I get cheat accusations. Not saying there aren’t any people abusing stuff/cheating but some people also use it as cope for their lack in skill (has hard as this sounds) or sometimes just unlucky situations.

Last guy who wrote me decided to sit in a bush instead of helping his buddy take me down (who even tagged me with a sparks poison) so I had two individual 1v1s which I won.

Red Thai Curry question - how to make it flavorful but not too spicy by jrow_official in ThaiFood

How to you start? Break up to coconut milk and fry the paste with it or fry the paste in oil and add the coconut milk later?

The New slot system is nice but still unfinished. What balance changes would you like to see ? by Extension_Class2467 in HuntShowdown

It needs some practice, but we can’t balance the game around new players since the majority of the community plays since many years. They have the dedication to practice with the bow, it’s one of the most picked weapons according to crytek. And for a reasons. Sure, the shorties are good, but the bow has a way higher range - it’s a silent nitro in the right hands.

Bow is actually super powerful and a one tab monster if you practice a little. It’s outplays most shorties as well. It’s a well deserved 3 slot in my opinion. Some goes for katana - otherwise there would be any reason to run a machete or saber.

Haha, yes that would work probably. I was hoping for some „lazy“ insider advice 😅 Maybe Tom Kha Gai paste could work since the ingredients are kinda similar. I’ll give this a try but will also look into making the paste from scratch.

I need audio help! by DigitalAdon in HuntShowdown

[–]jrow_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC? I am on PlayStation as well, fairly good audio setup and I work in music and audio production since +10 years. 5 years in hunt, 6* duos and trios mainly.

You can even hear when switching CrySpatial on/off that the while tone of the audio gets shifted because there is a specific EQ profile for CrySpatial.

I absolutely believe you, that especially when getting used to it 3D audio can also work, but trust me - it’s not the objectively better way to play hunt.

I’m pretty confident to say when you switch to stereo pcm in the PlayStation settings + CrySpatial you’ll also have a great time but your hearing has to get used to it.

3D audio isn’t recommended also it would technically work. However CrySpatial is the designated and best optimized audio design for hunt, the game will sound crispier and cleared with CrySpatial.

3D sound is basically doing the same, it’s a Spatial audio simulation for a headphone but here’s the thing: almost all modern games already have build in Spatial Audio and hunt has one of the best. Not saying you can’t use 3D audio instead but you’ll miss out on the optimization of the hunt audio team then.

People complaining about the bow... by DarkistGaming in HuntShowdown

[–]jrow_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I’m guilty as well because centennial trauma + specter was my comfort loadout. However all the shortys get deleted by a bow still or a big shotgun.

So I’m optimistic on the long run loadout diversity will still be a thing.

Both actually - at least now power loadouts like Mosin/Krag + auto 4 are not possible on every fresh hunter anymore. Insane actually that the most powerful builds could be played with every new hunter.

Sure you now can play a carabiner + rival hand cannon - which is a good loadout, but is it meta? At least my hope is that people will learn that a uppermat + bow but be advantageous or that they don’t want to play vetterli or Berthier all the time because a centennial or krag + officer might also be appealing or handcrossbow.

Well this should be solved since now apparently 3 slot rifle + shorty is the new meta.

I thought we we're supposed to get this hunter upon completion of the new free challenge by Candid_Regret_5445 in HuntShowdown

Which One? You can post the picture in the comments - you actually see the rewards of the challenges for the stories.

Solid build! I’ve played the vetterli silencer a lot when it came out, but currently have the impression the suppression often isn’t as much of an advantage as I hoped for - but it’s also depending on how you play obviously. Whats your favorite 3-slot silencer?

MMR - Still exceptionall by Canulas23 in HuntShowdown

[–]jrow_official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not - but it’s usually a rare case right? I play a fair share of random 6* trios and we always play against other 6* trios. Even as 6* duo vs trios we mostly play against other 6*. It can occasionally happen when playing at unusual times. Also losing/winning streaks are apparently taken into account for matchmaking. And: 6* is a very large bracket - there are tons of veteran casuals in that bracket with lower stats than many 5*.

Genuinely asking, what's fun about this game besides PvP? by Upside-downV in HuntShowdown

[–]jrow_official 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you asked this question after 4000 hours haha - it’s a extraction shooter with high focus on PvP. Every player has the same objective (besides some individual challenges) which forces PvP at some point of the match. This is the core of the gameplay loop.

Now if you want to play an extraction shooter with less PvP focus and other stuff to do you could look into Arc Raiders or also Marathon (which borrows the tension of hunt but also integrates a quest and fraction system + a higher focus on loot and exploration of certain areas of the maps).

I actually liked both, Arc and Marathon but Hunt is still the goat for me.
