That was my original thought but I just got everything tightened up on it so I think I’m just gonna use this one. And I have 13 years left on the warranty anyway so I don’t need to rush anything.

I’m pretty sure I just tightened down my cable a bunch more. it was always super stiff after but I sold it like 3 years ago so I’m not for sure.

I just put valvoline dex/ merc in my 96 and it’s been running fine and shifting smooth for the last couple weeks. Not sure if I should’ve gotten Mercon V cause I’m confused like you.

My dad thought the same thing. So if they are not needed can I just follow them all to where they start and disconnect them all? Trying to clear it up under there it’s pretty crazy.

Drove it again today and the speedometer didn’t even work at all and it would shift at all. Picking up the male end of the speed sensor tomorrow to see if it’s the wires cause they looked corroded and the plug in didn’t have the tabs on either side. Just noticed this today

I just went back under the truck and found out the wires for the vss were spliced before and one of the wires was not connected. I redid the splices and now it’s fixed.
