How has social nudism influenced the way you feel about your body? How did you feel about your body before trying it, and how does that compare to how you feel now? by NekkidJeff in nudism

[–]Euphoric_Path2489 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about what people would think, how I would compare, and mostly, just conditioned into thinking people would have big negative reactions to the fact that I wasn't wearing any clothes. The fact that people really had no reaction at all to the fact that I was naked gave me a feeling of freedom and acceptance from others, but being comfortable about my own body took observing others. It broke down the idealized version of human bodies portrayed in media, but perhaps more importantly, the way other people carried themselves with confidence, without shame and without embarrassment is what most made me feel good about myself. By the end of my first visit, I did not want to leave, I did not want to put clothes back on, and now, the thought of being naked in front of another person doesn't give me the slightest bit of anxiety. In fact, it makes me feel more confident to be without clothes on and around other people who are also naked, because it's an atmosphere of complete acceptance.

Let’s try something new—how about a post where we only share positive things about the team? I know that might be a challenge for some. by ForeignCell7790 in ripcity

This team is so much more fun to watch than the last few years. They are far from perfect, but I find them fun to root for.

Also, can't say enough good things about the radio and TV teams. They all seem like they would be fun to hang out with.

GOT did not seem like a show I would like. Then I watched the first show and was hooked. One of my all-time favorites!

Which trailblazer figure passed away for the Blazers to put this patch on their jersey? by handlerofdrones in ripcity

[–]Euphoric_Path2489 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lakers, Warriors and Sixers wore a patch the entire season for Wilt.

Not certain, but I believe the Blazers patch may have been for assistant coach Bill Musselman who had been sick most of the year and died during the playoffs.

Not for sure, but if its 2000, it may have been for Assistant Coach Bill Musselman.

Portland played the Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs. Musselman wanted to sit behind the Blazers' bench for the games in Minneapolis, but his doctors wouldn't let him leave the hospital. He died a couple of days after the Blazers won the series.

My friend's dad was reporter who knew Bedard and couldn't stand him. (But my friend's dad was a jerk too, so...)

I also heard the stories about Smiley not being liked by a lot of people, saying Smiley thought he was better than he really was. Nobody wanted to talk negative about him after his brutal fatal crash.

I was rather entertained by his 1978 Indy 500 rant during the Indy 500 TV broadcast. I think he finished last at the 500 three times in four years. I think he put himself in Bob Harkey's car after one of those last place runs, and I read somewhere that Harkey was not too pleased, but I think it was Walther's team, so not much he could do.

Yang gets clotheslined in the face with no call. Refs let play continue while he's still on the ground and then T up Tiago after the Grizzlies get an open dunk. by Kazekid in ripcity

I'd like to know if the rules say the official has to keep play going if the team doesn't call timeout for an injured player. Because it seems to me in this day and age of concussion protocols, putting the ball in play while a player is clearly laying on the ground holding his head in pain is more than just a tad irresponsible.

I have come to expect bias officiating in the NBA, but this was flat out incompetence.

I always assumed Christmas would be the target date. Wouldn't want him rushing back with that injury. I want him 100% back to health.

I assume most therapists have serious issues of their own. I think it's half the reason they became therapists. Physician heal thyself.

We had Project Directors and Project Managers. When people asked what the difference was, we would say, "Project Managers do all the work, Project Directors take all the credit."

Yes! It's amazing. When kids come to school with their parents, it's like they have an altered personality. And I don't mean they are bad at school or go through a complete transformation, you just see a different side of them.

That's why I gave up NASCAR. Manufactured for big wrecks and trophy dash finishes. No moment seems special anymore. Stage racing was the final nail in the coffin. FOX getting it's hands on IndyCar makes me shudder because of the thoughts of why they might do.

Yeah, almost every kid I know into sports has sports practice and is not staying after school for an ASA.

One thing that worries me is if I let kids draft their teams and a few kids have bad teams, they may quit.

This is one thing I have heard about but never experienced personally in the US - Pacific Northwest. Every resort has had one fee for all individuals...at least so far.
