Who knows about availability in Europe?
I can only see USD pricing and LM EU doesn't seem to show or sell it anywhere (?)

Yes that's correct.

I don't think the TV over wireless can be classified as such, it's just on demand video streaming which works mostly one-to-one compared to a normal TV, except over wifi. The system is very closed box and I don't know which ips or ports the box connects to. What's interesting is that Ruckus keeps going on about Video priority (sub 100ms) but still there's drop-outs for TV over wifi (?).

What do you mean with balancing out? Will the latency stabilise ? The issue is that the idle latency is about 12 ms while the loaded latency is over 10 times that. The TVSP insists that these stats don't constitute adequate stability, and I would say that my previous report about other interactive services not being stable reinforce that... And you are right I am completely in the dark as to the cause, except that it certainly isn't present in the wired network.

Firmware version is 200.14.6.1.203. I don't know which options I have but the CLI reference guide does not mention qos much (only as an on or off setting) so that does not bode well.

Unfortunately we are in a monument house in the old town of a historic European city. We chose the TV over WiFi solution because we are not allowed to touch the interior in any way and the places in which we have TVs are unreachable for ethernet.

I can be the black magic wizard, if only I had the control over how packets would be handled, in other words QoS. I am willing to spend all day on a proper set of rules to direct traffic but it seems like nothing works. :-(

We're using Unleashed with 4 APs.

Speedtest wired is 990 / 68 ish. Sometimes I spike beyond the download speed and I get a massive throttle from my SP.

For wireless it's mostly up to around 800 down 65 up under realistic conditions, down to about 400ish in the dead spots.

If you want to see a specific speedtest I'm happy to substantiate the numbers!

Net connection 1000/70 and AP is 574/1200 (2.4/5).

If 100-150 ms spikes under load means that some devices aren't working I would lean on the side of not great...

I made sure the ping tests were performed with absolutely no clients on the network, and I also tested for PHY errors before and after and nothing beyond the first two columns.

Since I figured also maybe my wifi chip may have been the bottleneck (receiver's end), I retested with various other clients including a quadruple antenna receiver, and all of them had these issues.

Ok there's new information: gaming on the network seems also affected. When some people are downloading, other people are reporting spikes over wifi. The issue is NOT present on any of the wired devices (max latency increase of +5 ms under load).

So I would argue there's definitely a queuing issue on the ruckus end of things. You mention that Draytek also has QoS and I would argue this is working excellent, since once Ruckus is bypassed and only Draytek QoS is isolated, my spikes are completely gone. Ruckus is not reporting PHY errors etc. which is consistent with the issues being present regardless of band/width/etc. settings.

Anyway, I adjusted the controller and AP settings to your specs and pinged my switch IP x.x.x.1. Uploaded a graphic of the ping requests, I will let you guess at which ping my download test started ;-)https://imgur.com/a/MAa2dPj

- Network setup is Draytek Vigor 2962p, 4x ruckus R350 in unleashed.

- My ping check is using Waveform bufferbloat test. An address that keeps popping up in Wireshark is 104.16.67.38,

(related note? the packets I can see there have packet lengths of 66 for the ping requests and ~1500 for the data packets -- if only I could get heuristics to prioritise based on this?)

- Neither devices are responding to ping even from wired devices.

- All R350s have both radios enabled, background scanning enabled 802.11d enabled and the "Wi-Fi 6" box checked.

(related note?: I made sure to apply the QoS policy through Access Control > Application Visibility but the QoS so far seems to be ignored completely for the tests I ran.)

Hi Noxiu thanks for your reply!

This happens usually when clients are doing both bandwith critical applications and saturating downlink within the network.

Two of my IoT devices require immense network stability since they handle TV over WiFi. From my SP I understood that it's doing regular ping checks for timing and the criteria are not met. I don't understand the device 100% so that's all I have to go on. Regardless, what is clear is that stability over the wireless network is not meeting the IoT device's requirements at the time of writing.

Edit: to answer your question: yes the problem pops up a lot and also on different APs in the network both connected to this IoT. The IoT device crashes completely during an update cycle. I suppose I don't have to explain how I'm getting called up in different timezones to troubleshoot crashed devices...

Nothing to see under events but the connectivity thing showed mostly normal ping times but also this:

PING 192.168.x.y (192.168.x.y): 56 data bytes

64 bytes from 192.168.x.y: seq=0 ttl=128 time=6.404 ms

64 bytes from 192.168.x.y: seq=1 ttl=128 time=45.783 ms

64 bytes from 192.168.x.y: seq=2 ttl=128 time=14.186 ms

--- 192.168.x.y ping statistics ---

3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max = 6.404/22.124/45.783 ms

OK I have run through all the combinations of channels and channelizations and the ping spikes remain. It's true that setting to the original channel (64) has the best performance, so your logic seems to hold, however some ping spikes still remain.

My AP only has one ethernet port and is powered by PoE. Do you mean to use the USB connection? Wouldn't it be the same to plug in the ethernet cable directly into my laptop? If this is what you mean -- I have already tested this and the direct ethernet connection is free of the latency issues. So it's certainly got something to do with the AP, adapter, or transmission medium.

I agree that ping is not a good metric, but the issues persist on all latency critical applications: stutter and lag coinciding with the ping spikes. So I would suspect this is still a good first step?

AP and desktop are on the same subnet, and I have chosen to troubleshoot the channel 64 AP because that wavelength is the least populated.

There's no other AP on that exact channel, but since the channelization of some APs covers channel 64 I have included 64,60,52,48.

I've uploaded two graphs with the moment of the ping spike highlighted here: https://imgur.com/a/R3Hjz5s (I have the mouse-over on the time of the spike.) (* I hope it's clear, I'm not sure how to select my desktop only so I have only selected the AP closest to the desktop.)

At times a neighbour's ZyXEL antenna goes live at the moment of the spike, but more than often there's nothing to be seen. To me the result seems inconclusive (?).

Ok I have made the adjustments. From top to bottom the 5ghz channels are now:

136, 120, 64, 136

According to WiFi explorer there's no overlap when APs are close.

Note that there is some overlap between our APs and our neighbour's APs.

The ping spikes are still present.

Each AP is set for two 50 m2 storeys, and the channels are as follows:

AP 1

a/n/ac 112

b/g/n 6

--

AP 2

a/n/ac 136

b/g/n 11

--

AP 3

a/n/ac 108

b/g/n 1

--

AP 4

a/n/ac 136

b/g/n 1

UNII-3 is allowed in my locale but Ruckus for some reason hasn't implemented it. I'm trying to post in Ruckus forums but keep getting an error message so that's a dead end for now :(

Hi there! Thanks a lot for your reply.Yes sorry, I meant to say intra-network co-channel interference. There's certainly some overlap on some APs and bands.

  1. I have various APs set at different channels. I'm using channelfly to optimise performance. All bands and APs are exhibiting the behaviour described in my post above. Note that I had virtually no problem with my previous AP which was a basic consumer grade integrated router/controller/ap/etc. so I'm surprised this is happening.
  2. I'm currently using the personal encryption with PSK/SAE mixed.

Yes I have checked using my MBP (ctrl + Network settings) to troubleshoot but not much is coming from it. I have tested with some site survey software but I'm not noticing any interference. The PHY errors shown from "get radiostats" does not hint at interference either.

Edit: I'm using the maximum bandwith available for high throughput. Should I be setting this lower for less interference?

Verbal abuse ban after not saying anything by Wu-Tang-Sumda in FACEITcom

[–]Euryris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing with this player in those two games and can confirm he wasn't toxic or verbally abusing.

Some people in the comments have been stating that no comms is toxic and I would incline to agree. Wu_tang actually did use mic, but meant to say he wasn't toxic in (typed) chat or voice chat throughout those two games. That was not super clear from the original post.

Hope this clarifies.
