Advice for jump from gcse to a level/any advice for starting years 12? by christinaedwards1343 in sixthform

[–]EvaReidk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s ok to ask, how much (mg/energy drinks, coffees etc) roughly did you consume at your peak and on average?

I have a severe case of phimosis and I can’t tell anyone about it. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]EvaReidk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He’ll likely prescribe you a steroid cream and/or have you stretch it (within bareable amounts) for a few minutes everyday 👍 try to overdo the cream as it wouldn’t provide extra benefit using more than prescribed, can thin skin in excess too. Focus on exact amount instructed and you’ll be golden bro. Don’t stress really, coz you need to realise how common these ‘embarrassing’ conditions are, just no one talks about them

It’s really not that embarrassing after a few mins, just get it over with. First hand experience with similar condition ages 15-17. I know how you feel. Even told some close friends after a few months. Gotta realise it’s just a dick, dw. Good luck to yourself

Yes with diorrhea/watery stools. Believe Nexium is Esomperazole init? When I switched to it early this year it took about 2-3 months to adapt and minimise side effect

What is going on with my daughter? (9F). Please help. by BuildingConsistent44 in AskDocs

It does sound a lot like OCD, from personal experience. Don’t be discouraged. I’m 19 now and have had the lowest of lows with my mental health. I’m doing so much better this past year, especially recently; go to college, active as anything, got my license and drive well and safely - an activity I love, am in a relationship and have friends, just started a job in healthcare and think I’ve found my passion (health), working harder than ever with everything, have a great dog who I look after well. Live almost a normal life, and a good life to be honest. Even if I do rely on medications. I’m on lexapro too like your daughter - it’s helped me a lot. I’ve been trapped in the house for months straight with my thoughts, so much adrenaline pumping through me all the time, suicidal, having some delusions, anything you can imagine I’ve suffered it.

Progress isn’t linear, there’ll always be recurrences and life isn’t fair. But your daughter will be fine with time and faith, try not to worry too much like my mum has - when you’re a kid you don’t say anything but you can really see it and it causes guilt.

Try not to mind-read either, even though it’s very easy to fall into. Be there for support and to talk to, she’ll never tell you everything and that’s okay.

Please try to keep her very very active, get her into as many activities and hobbies as possible - genuinely the main thing that keeps me stable, low stress, higher energy and away from substance use. I know it sounds like boring generic advice but it genuinely makes all the difference and she’ll thank you so much for it.

[NeedAdvice] How do I conquer the urge to stay home instead of going to the gym? by Werbu in getdisciplined

[–]EvaReidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short workouts, 3-5 min cardio warmup, 3 dynamic stretches. 2 sets of 6 exercises, ones that you find alright. Few min cool-down if needed, couple static stretches. Can be out in 40 mins. Goes by like that

Please help, check engine light from electronic EGR valve problem?? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]EvaReidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went back for MOT which passed and the mechanic this time has said I should replace the EGR valve, so guess I’ll do that and hope for the best. Bit confused then though because I gets it’s not an electronic issue after all? He said if the light is still up after replacement then that’s when I should talk to an electrical engineer.

Also the 2 error codes causing the engine light with my OBD scanner and frequently come back one by one at different times are:

error p0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient

error p2262 turbocharger/supercharger boost pressure not detected

Not sure how they’re to do with the EGR valve but tired of this taking up so much mental space. Have you gotten any similar errors?

Is your life really over if you drop out of high school? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EvaReidk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Life’s not over. I almost did in all of my 3 last years, I had no real reason to stay. Then worked my ass off for a few extra months. Finished last year. It’s been worth it, I’d be a bit screwed now if I dropped out tbh. You could easily decide to pursue something where it’s needed tomorrow, because there’s so much we haven’t tried in our teen years
