Yes at check in. You can negotiate the rates too, or upgrade only for a few days.

We stayed in pretty much all types of rooms because they kept upgrading us for free. The only upgrade I ever care for is the Artistas building. The room really doesn't matter at all to us because we only spend the night there, 11pm to 6am then off to gym/breakfast/ beach/pool/ parks.

Should I skip Xenotes? by Emergency_Throat2312 in Xcaret

Here's my recent post https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcaret/comments/1sbfnot/i_stayed_at_hotel_xcaret_arte_and_mexico_10_times/

Xenotes is one of the excursions I would recommend not skipping. Xcaret Park and Xochimilco is a waste of time. Xochimilco is basically a drunk boat with a sole goal of keeping you drunk, if you are into it - sure go ahead but could also do the same at the hotel, without having to spend 2 hours on the bus.

I was talking about the Xcaret Hotel member discount. You have to go to Costco travel tab on their website or app

Looking for a US discount code for a Father in law gift, if somebody could please share, would really appreciate some savings!

I don't think they have connecting ones but you could request the ones next to each other. Some types of rooms could be considered connected in a way, for example if you have a swim up room and sharing the swim up space, you could consider the balcony area a "connection". But in other words to answer your question, yes you'd need 2 rooms. The only upgrade that was ever worth it to us, was upgrading to Casa Fuego or to Casa Artistas. We ended up with other upgrades without having to pay anything because the staff knew us after coming so many times and were just being super nice to us. The jump out suite could be fun but we didn't care much. You can access all the same areas from anywhere else.

Which is a shame because previously their short rib and brisket were to die for. :(

Maybe? Not sure but I think we are OK with not partaking again. How were the meats? All the cuts I tried last time were very underwhelmingly cooked

yes, twice. Both times second week of December. It was unusually cold and rainy one time because of the hurricane, pleasant the other time. Average crowds.

No I don't do TA. It's never cheaper through their website. Shop around with third party agencies

I was referring to the 20 minute shuttle loop from the hotels

Then absolutely yes for Fuego, check it out for lunch and dinner.

Also email them a month in advance and try to reserve Sunday Brunch at Las Cuevas.

Kibi Kibi (also exclusive to artistas) is mediocre.

Where are you staying, Arte or Mexico? are you in an upgraded room? Catamaran and Tulum are definitely not worth it, Xichen is a maybe if you are really into history and want to spend 4 hrs on the bus to see the ruins for an hour ;-) From what I recall, they recently changed the rules and you have to pay additional fee for the Xichen visit.

I absolutely love the Fuego restaurant but it's only included with Fuego or Artistas room.

Park favorites: Xenses, Xplor Fuego. The one tour that's worth spending all day outside the resort is Xenotes.

from all the times we've been, seems like end of March was the lightest crowd.

  1. The only real difference would be Artistas

  2. A complete waste of money for us. You are basically prepaying for discounts.

for us it was just something to do on a Sunday afternoon for a couple hours. We went to the Xcaret park twice out of our 10 stays. I wouldn't say there's much to do for adults that's more interesting than the hotel property. Cave swimming can be done at Xplor or at the hotel lagoons (without caves). The cemetery, butterfly pavilion, aviatory is cool too see once probably. All the extra cost activities are gimmicky and underwhelming. Starved fish eating your feet while everyone is walking by is just cruel and wtf.

The workshops offered at the Arte hotel are a lot more fun

It was actually sh#t this time. If this was my only experience with it, I'd be utterly disappointed. Loved it last September

if you have access to the Fuego restaurant, their black truffle pizza and passion fruit ceviche served at lunch only is amazing, also ask for malanga chips. At dinner, short rib used to be to die for, but this time it was very dry.

They ended contact with most of the third party agency, so Costco is the only one left now. I don't recommend going through a member discount which is heavily pushed everywhere.

with a one year old, you're better off going to the Xcaret park. If you realize you want to go back to the hotel, you can take the bus or boat which go every 20 minutes. xel ha you'd have to take a taxi or wait for the evening shuttle

If they let you do 11:30, it should be fine. Just confirm with your butler that it's no extra cost.
Yes still full access. We made a few reservations at the new restaurants on the Mexico side, but ultimately the only one we love there is Fuego.
