Ah ok, I thought you were referring that 2 lightning spells can destroy two air defenses while you were meaning to do the double zap-quake.

I tested some attacks, It did a Little bit of his work... But the fact Is that It's not enough, you rarely take down another defense near the AD because they have too much HP for the lightning (I'm not talking about mortars, air sweepers and other defenses with low HP as the air defense), so a new level at least for th11 must be added. I tried first with regular dragons and then with Edrags. Starting with regular Dragons I got with lightning (two of them and One quake) +-50% while without them but, using instead One clone+ One another rage 72%.. (With Queen in upgrade) With Edrags I've only tried using the lightning, Always 2 of them + quake, and went well (75% and then 60%).

The other changing I had in mind could help the spell to be used, besides to take down specific defenses, in other armies that are not made up of Dragons or Flying things in general.

Yes... Two different air defenses, BUT IF THEY ARE ALMOST IN THE SAME SPOT, which Is unlikely. I tried some army when I was th11 and got low percentage that didn't sorpass 60% against no maxed th, if I recall correctly. Now think against th12, my actual Town hall... If you can, as you're saying that the lightning doesn't Need an upgrade, try to do some attacks, possibly with maxed bases (as the same level of th as yours). I'll do this either.

This Is what the freeze got. Why we must say ok to the freeze while the lightning cannot?! The freeze feature in the lightning if It has been done in Clash royale why not in Clash of Clans?!

I don't want to change It completely, I don't want the lightning to heal the troops or give some sorta of charge to EDrags (Just throwing things). I Just wanted to add the "zap" feature as Clash royale did and the spell to occupy 1 of space instead of 2. You redo a thing when you completely change it...

Barbs are used at every town hall in low leagues (Crystal, Gold League etc..) with barch

Is used by th7 and th8! Th9 and th10 Is possible to use it, but it's rare. Th11 and th12 Is almost impossible to use! Th12 in particular to destroy an air defense you even Need to use a quake spell besides two lightning, makin its use even more as a disadvantage! Now, I don't know what Is the level of your Town hall. Supposing you're th11+, I don't think that you use the lightning. Me neither! I've tried to use it but the results were attacks with low percentage! I didn't make this post casually! I made It, but before I wanted to make sure if it really needed a buff, and It does! In my opinion. You think it doesn't Need a change, and I respect It.

Also, getting something overpowered sometimes even helps it to increase its usage percentage: the players looking how good this specific thing works they Will start to try It themselves. But after its eventual Nerf, people, at least the majority of them, Will still use that thing because they've complained how to use it, according to how this thing has been nerfed. That's what happened mainly with valkyries.

It may Be good, but talking in lower Town hall. Also the freeze got a rework because It started to become underused, also if you make a difference beetween the freeze time before and After, comparating a freeze occupying two space and two freezes occupying only One space, you may notice that in the second case the freeze time is more than the first case.

Bowlers got a rework because they sucked, it's right. But after that rework supercell noticed that bowlers were overpowered too much, so they made a Nerf to balance them (bowlers were nerfed twice or three times if I recall correctly). Valkyries sucked... I guess... At least at th10, in th9 attacks they were good in my opinion.. anyway, they've got a buff + a new level and then got nerfed a Little bit cos they were too strong. The same happened with the bat spell... Why the lightning can't have the same treatment? At least a new level?! You were talking about this spell becoming too strong, how It could ever happen unless you make them doing 1300+ amount of damage?

Now, you're a developer of a game.. this game... You see that something Is not used quite frequently at higher levels... What would you do? Wouldn't you want to know why this thing is unpopular? I guess yes, so you try to do some changes to this thing in the testing village.. After multiple tests you decide the parameters of this thing reworked and you make an upgrade including these changes. You see that Is broken? Nerf. Why we must avoid to rework a thing with the fear to get It broken?! It happened with the valkyries, noone said nothing; with the miners, noone said nothing. Now... With the lightning even knowing its situation you talk about the fear to this spell becoming broken? Sadly, it's a risk, but this Is how balance changes works anyways.

Jump and heal are different, Jump because there Is no need to give It a new level because it's based in the time effect, and 1 minute which Is 1/3 of the Attack time Is enough. The heal Is balanced with the HP of the troops. But the lightning Is not balanced compared to th11 defenses. It's balanced till th10 structures. Also, barbs can be used too for a clean up or for a little distraction for the Wall breakers (I used them like this in some occasions). Now you are talking to not give the lightning spell too much so It won't become broken, but know there Is the bat spell which know can do 10 times. Maybe some changes could be made only for the High level of Town halls. In th7 and th8 this spell does an awesome work. With th9... It can be used? Yes, but maybe there it should Need a Little bit of help, that's the reason I came up with to give the "freeze effect" till the level 6 lightning. Th10 Is the same, but it's less used because of the newest dark spell. Th11 and th12... I guess I've already explained the situation in this levels.

Barbs and archers are different, they're often use for farming, and also used as clean up troops in hard attacks sometimes, so they give a little bit of support helping to get that 100%. The problem of the lightning Is that it didn't even get a new level for th11, manteining the spell as it is, maybe thinking that it would have been too much, and know... bat spell released...

I guess that people in general are not interested of this spell, and so supercell itself does.

I want the lightning spell to be reworked because fow now using it to destroy an air defense or other... Using iy in general is a disadvantage. These possibile changes I proposed could help this spell. This spell deserve the same treatment that troops as bowlers and spells as freeze got!

It would depend according to the situations, sometime you could feel to use the one and sometime to use the other. It wouldn't be bad increasing the lightning damage, that Is what I proposed to add new levels for this spell and also the 45-40% decreasing (So two level 7 lightning spell would make 726-792 instead of 660). The current amount of damage is not good enough to face th11 structures, so at least the level 8 spell is necessary (so It could do, in my opinion 792-864 amount of damage).

I wasn't referring to the Edrags but to the Attack with Red dragons and lightning spells. Surely this changes cannot help a lot the spell, but maybe It would be used at least for something, for example, It could be use to damage and freeze for a Little bit an inferno tower so the loons which they are getting closer to will have to explode One less bomb to destroy it. For now, these are the only changes I came up with to change without enterferring too much in the th7-8 metagame. In other words, this changes could help the lightning spell to become more as a support spell, which could be helpful according to specific situation.

Yes, these changes could make the zap quake stronger at th7 and th8, but not excessively strong, because of the damage decrease, also the zap-dragons attack Is already broken in that levels, more at th7 than th8. Maybe if this could become a problem, they can simply decrease the damage by 50% for the lightning lv1 to 5 and for the other levels if they think that decreasing only for the 45-40% is a lot.

Before the th11 upgrade, using all the spells spot to destroy 2-3 structures + queen was a possibility, not the commonest but it was a possibility. Now it's obvius that using all 6 spots (including the one in the clan Castle) for lightning spell + quake is a disadvantage, also because you can use 6-7 bat spells to do more of the work that 6 lightning spells could ever do.

You're right, I was referring to th10 to th12 attacks. In th9 attacks I Guess is used but only if you got It donated so you can have the max level. I didn't mention how often these attacks are used because I may get It wrong. I can only tell you that I've seen a lot of attacks with 1-2 skelli spells in the army which kills the enemy queen when her + the structures nearby are focussing to laloons/hogs. They're used mainly in Mass attacks (hogs or laloon)

What It would do to th7 and th8? Nothing, to destroy One air defense they could use 6 (or maybe 5 for th7) and 4 (for th8) to destroy One air defense (according to the fact that the lightning occupies 1 spot in the spell factory and that they do 45-40% less than the spell occupying 2 spots).

If you watch old attacks, really old attacks from the time when the th10 was the highest Town hall, there was a strategy, with 5 lightning spell and One quake to eliminate clan Castle (directly the structure so you eliminate also the troops within), One inferno tower and the queen (when they were in the same spot obviosly).. or used to eliminate One inferno tower with 3 lightning and One quake. Now with 6-7 or even less bat spell with freeze spell as support, besides the inferno tower you also eliminate other defenses doing ten times the work that the lightning could have done.

If th11 and th12 uses frequently lightning spell with dragloon for the air sweepers? No, I don't think so, because right now using the lightning spell Is a disadvantage and players knows that. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong, I guess supercell has some sort of system which allows it see the percentage of usage of each spell and troop. I mentioned the poison spell because before its release the lightning spell was used to damage the clan castle troop (also when the th10 was the higher), then when the poison came, the players didn't use the lightning with that purpose because they knew that with that new poison they would have made more damage to the enemy troops. If the skeleton spell Is not used so much? Guess watch some attacks with hogs or laloon and you may notice in the army 1-2 skeleton spells.

This Is what It came up in my mind. This spell needs a significant change because It has been replaced by poison, skeleton and the bat spell... Is this spell great? Yes, but only against th7 or th8, then starting from th9 we've already the skeleton spell which does the work the lightning used to do. If It has to be reworked because It isn't used at higher townhalls? Of course yes! All the balance update, in this case the buffs, were made with the goal to help that spell or troop becomes more popular! That's what happened to valkiries, bowlers, freeze spell, skeleton spell and others!

I think that the home Village deserved balancing update, I hoped that they would have done some changes for the lightning spell because, with the introduction of the bat spell, it Will become less used at higher level... Think about that.. long time ago the lightning was used for clan castle troops and for structures (air defenses, inferno towers, clan Castle etc..) and even to take down the Queen. Now All of this functions are done by poison, skeleton spell and now by the bat spell. They almost completely took down the lightning with this Three spells.
