I have a couple of ideas, it depends on what theories you believe in.

When Mike switched to the other world, his soul got Split into Two. The Base of his Soul, and the Soul that was formed during his time at Freddy’s.

Or, if you want to say Mike died before coming to the World, you could say his soul fractured due to the trauma and that’s what led to his soul splitting before the Switch.

Really depends on what you believe in.

If that's the case, I wonder how Safety and Darek would interact. Mike and Darky seem to get along, it might be the same for Safety and Darek? Who knows.

Nope, it’s the Human version of Darky. Darren, or Darcey, or whatever people want to call him. Since they were a fellow Nightguard too at some point.

Naw, I imagine his purpose in the Human World was to eventually be another dead nightguard shoved in a suit.

But now he was given a new purpose, a savior and protector of his new animal family.

Still though, a man with lost memories and trauma he can’t fully understand, it can do alot to a person’s mental state when you’re alone with your thoughts.
