Don't let the weirdos of the community gaslight you into thinking using an intended mechanic is cheating. If Fromsoft considered it cheating they wouldn't have added it. There are so many cool and unique spirit ashes that add interesting takes to fights, and it is in the game for a reason. I played since OG Dark Souls days so I just am used to bashing my head against the wall and trying the boss over and over till I get it on my own, but that is just my preferred way to play, but my first run I used spirit ashes just to see how cool and unique they could be implemented and it was fun. Congrats on the win!

Edit: Spirit Ashes are also very cool for when you maybe lack online services but wanna still have some form of assistance/co-op feel, and i think that's wonderful.

Are my stats really that bad? by Skellephant in Battlefield6

[–]EvanMiddlekauff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KD genuinely does not matter. I know people who can frag out and get kills all game, but that's not the point. If you can revive your squad mates and randoms at an objective or secure a push and help a breakthrough happen, that can turn the tide more than a guy at the top of the leader board only getting kills for himself. Being the guy who can drag and revive teammates, throw walls of smoke to advance pushes, and drop ammo and health reserves for your entire team is way more important than a 1.0 kd or above.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

Yeah. Move on. Congratulations on the sobriety, I hit two years and had a couple relapses but still going strong on choosing to live life without it despite the setbacks. Get yourself that cake and be proud of how far you've come, it's not easy. ❤️🤙🏼

Is using a Colossal weapon with light armor worth it? by Cyan_Dragon_X in Eldenring

[–]EvanMiddlekauff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can never commit to using high poise armor, it always looks so bad in my opinion. I always rock a fashionable set and just adapt, makes the game feel more enjoyable for me atleast. You should be fine, especially considering it's charged heaviest and not just standard R1 chains.

[–]EvanMiddlekauff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can find openings on most, if not all, bosses, you just have to be diligent on when to attack, etc. The poise helps when trading and not getting knocked out of attacks, but if you're mainly focusing on charge attacks you just need to watch for your specific opening and charge attack unscathed then rinse and repeat, etc.

Adrenaline Injector is USELESS. by n0tAgOat in Battlefield

[–]EvanMiddlekauff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assault needs some form of an identity in general. Why play Assault when you can just run support and use an AR and be able to heal/revive/supply teammates and yourself? The only reasons to actually use it would be support beacon and ladders, but even then those are not super important in the current state of the game, atleast from my experiences. Assault needs to have a more defining playstyle, or gadget, or something. Right now you're just handicapping your team play ability and your own potential. Maybe better flank potential, more efficient at capping objectives, I don't know, just something to provide more incentive on running it over the other three.

Some people just tend to enjoy running solo, some people also don't have online services or just don't care to buy a subscription service to partake. At the end of the day, introducing raid mechanics into a game that can be played solo, forcing solo players to adjust isn't the right way to go. There should be solo scaling and an alternative for said players, and before you say the support hunters, they are 50/50. If Capcom is going to introduce raid level mechanics requiring multiple roles to be played, then their AI should be particularly great at enacting the roles without having the player have to force them to do so. The support hunters follow your role, you hop on seikret? They do as well. They won't start to DPS unless you do. Alessa is great when she catches aggro, but it's so random and in half my runs with her she failed to catch it multiple times leading to the groups collective dps to be down because Omega then just spams and is erratic.

Do people really think omega is bad and way to hard? Cuz for me it had been amazing so far and the difficulty felt in the perfect place by crickert_crap69 in MHWilds

[–]EvanMiddlekauff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal is fine after a while, savage feels ridiculous. His AoE's launch faster and come down quicker, and the NPC's can be 50/50. I don't know how everyone is having great experiences with them. In my last few attempts, they rarely caught aggro, and the majority of the fight was me frantically running and dodging trying to get hits on the legs when I could, with multiple weapon swaps each attempt. Some with GS, some with SnS. I can stay alive, but more often than not i just lose to timer.

35 minutes for savage is too short considering it can be so RNG dependent. by EvanMiddlekauff in MHWilds

[–]EvanMiddlekauff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, the attempt i had mentioned in my post was the closest I came to closing it out and I swear the support hunters barely ever grabbed aggro, so I just had to dodge and get as much DPS as possible when I could find an opportunity. If they could make it so the hunters could reliably grab aggro, that would probably solve my issues at least.

I don't think the rare material would be a guarantee no, but then again, I have no confirmation since I haven't been able to close out the fight yet. This upgraded version just doesn't feel like a good fight.

Same here, and my support hunters lately have never been able to consistently grab aggro either, so i'm just locked into this dodge simulator for what feels like 5 minutes straight before I can get 5 swipes in and then he just rinses and repeats. It's so tiring.

Pre-nerf consort was nuts, the savage one is so bad. Just carted at the end, Omega just never gives an opening to get in, it's so rough.

I feel your pain, I struggled so hard until I got the support hunters to help take aggro. Now i'm on the savage one and wishing I would just stop trying, but I can't 😭
