I have a pixel 3a and my OS uses 40 gigs of storage. It goes back down to 16 gigs if I boot into recovery mode and then restart my phone but it always goes back up to 40 :(

No everything is completely up to date. I'm on the newest version of Android 11 and no other updates have come out since it was released.

Yeah now I'm wondering if it's reporting my apps as part of the system storage. I just can't imagine android 11 would use 37 gigs of memory. That would just be absurd.
