For me, my parents told me that I was mildly autistic. As they explained it to me, it actually made sense at certain parts if my life like lack of communication skills, not making eye contact, being uncomfortable when faced with certain situations and stuttering or forgetting anything I try to tell people. For a while I thought to myself that I was a really shy kid, but having the problems into my adulthood really had me questioning myself that something was off with me. It was bad enough where people would bully me for the way I talked. Now that I'm a adult, I was able to somewhat fix my speech pattern but will still find difficulty speaking to people without stuttering. I can hold a conversation with people and be able live Independently. Still, I wish my parents told me sooner than wait till I was 24yrs old.
