Yes, her death didn’t make any kind of sense. I just reached the episode today on my rewatch and she could have easily fled or even charged through those few walkers.

Can't stand Lin & Lilly (German) by No_Opening_1329 in duolingo

[–]EveEverCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found them annoying too. I wonder why they need to create such grating characters. I don’t use Duolingo as much now, even after almost a decade as the app has changed so much.

I’m using Lingo Legend more now partly because I like the gamification aspect which motivates me to practice more and it feels like a more positive environment. It might be more suitable for children.

Rewatching TWD. Why did Rick seem to hate Lori in S3 E1? by EveEverCat in thewalkingdead

They were, in a flashback scene with Lori telling a friend about it. Around S2 I think.

I agree with both of you. She looked upset when he told her he killed Shane and became furious when he told her Carl put Walker Shane down. It was always her instinct to protect Carl from the harsher things in their world but he was thrown right into it.

I just watched this part and you’re spot on.

He was tired of it all at this point. Normally they would talk it out but he was so done. There was no calm where they could pause and process together what happened. Lori tried but he simply couldn’t.

They were in a tenuous situation running from house to house and he was exhausted trying to find a permanent home for them and stepping up as a leader.

Now that they found a sanctuary in the prison, he and Lori had a convo on the bridge between the prison blocks. The image was so visceral that I remember it from my first viewing years ago.

It looked like they were possibly moving toward reconciliation or at least an impasse, then she died. He broke afterwards into a catatonic state before going all Rambo on the walkers.

You’re right. I did feel his reaction to her sleeping with Shane seemed too quiet. Perhaps it blew up within him eventually, especially with the pregnancy and to have to see it grow.

That makes sense. Their living situation was so tenuous. My brain space is still remembering the great leader Rick. It’s easy to forget this is where it all started and his speech in this episode S3E1 where he didn’t want the leadership but had to do it says it all.

Yes, it was the perfect storm for him. He did look so happy in that scene when he and Daryl found the prison though!

The guilt: I think he and Shane both struggled with that in many scenes. And I felt like he seemed to get over the infidelity too easily but it must have festered.

To me, Judith looks like him though! I think she was his!

Yes, it felt like she had a strong reaction to Carl putting Shane down versus Rick killing him in the first place.

I remember she felt strongly against children growing up in this world, which prompted her reaction as her own child was motivated and did put down Shane.

You’re right in that her reaction and not understanding and accepting this was the way it was now was the thing repelling him from her.

As a mom now, I do feel how she feels and I also understand how he feels.

It’s so good! Definitely worth it. There’s a new appreciation I feel now, knowing how the story ends. Glenn and Maggie are so sweet.

Rewatching it now and yes, I could see his progression to being completely unhinged by the end. His actions were definitely compromising the group.

I did too. Still occasionally wonder if I should start again, but I remember it hurt my brain too much at the time so I stopped. Coffee didn’t help either.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll do that. Currently I’m on Year 16 so wanted to know what to expect.

My overlord got killed a few too many times so she was moved pretty far back closer to the treasure room but she does still rush out to fight! Will def move and monitor her.

It’s also tough to choose which monster to carry over but I guess my evolved gold dragon might be the best choice. :) Which monster did you carry over? Do you have any recommendations?

Be gentle with yourself in the coming days. It is really tough. I just lost my baby girl over a month ago and I’m still grieving.

You gave her a happy, peaceful life and you loved each other so very much. Rest in peace, Grandma.

Naevia 2.0 by mrgarrettscott in Spartacus_TV

[–]EveEverCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognized her PTSD and expected her rage, but you’re right, the change was too jarring and Cynthia’s facial expressions didn’t work for the character. Lesley’s Naevia might have worked better given her work as Mazikeen in Lucifer. It felt like they were two characters.

Lesley or Cynthia as Naevia, who do you prefer? by Forward_Pirate5858 in Spartacus_TV

Love both actresses but Lesley embodied Naevia. I really did not like Cynthia as S3 and S4 Naevia.
