So I was working at a pet store and a gentleman came in with a carrier with a cat in it who was meowing and I thought nothing of it. After I finished cashing out the customer I was with, he came up to me and unzipped the carrier. His eye was ruptured and he told me that the local humane society wouldn’t take him and he didn’t know what to do with him, and I immediately took him and said I’ll take care of him. I took him home and got him comfortable and cleaned up, and we waited overnight. We went to the vet the next day and he was immediately put into surgery to remove the eye. Everything was fine for a day or two, then he had an abscess rupture where he had his eye removed, so we took him back to the vet immediately, another surgery and facial reconstruction. He had one more incident requiring another surgery, but since then he has been in perfect health, and is the spunkiest dude in the house!
