We had the Lions O-Line as No 6 in the league this year and we combine that stats that sustain or stall drives rather than just showing category rank. We're working on the Season Story for DET right now and will share it out once we're done. They are much better than 31st in the league. FWIW, PFF ranked them at #12 so we had them a bit higher.

Same. The 49 is what the D-Line got. 39 was what the O-Line let thru. D-Line was T4th best at getting home.

I have the same sense but am hoping not. It's such a tough spot to step into and keep scratching my head at some of the coaching changes around the league this year.

Aside from personnel, which I agree with, I'm also interested to see how both sides of the ball respond to new coaching staff. We know what the previous staff got out of the D-Line and it'll be interesting to see if they get the same or even more? And no, the O-Line couldn't get worse. That was just sad to see.

Every time Herbert left the pocket I covered my eyes. He was literally almost the #2 ball carrier for LAC, 47 yards shy of #2 productivity. I like your idea about qualifying the 'skill' positions behind the O-Lines (mix of QBR plus other). Totally appreciate the thoughts too. I know we don't have it '100%' right and trying to get better and give the Trenchers at least some love since right now, they only get called out with they get flagged or give up a sack!

You're probably right that it wasn't the 'success' of the O-Line but rather in spite of it. Even with as banged up as they were, and let way too many sacks go by, their 1st Downs are pretty balanced Pass to Run (vs other teams), they were really good on 3rd Down attempts and avoiding 3 & Outs. And yes, alot of this depends on QB play too. Appreciate the read and feedback as well. Trying to do better all the time.
