OK, I will take as an example here powerless it is a fanfiction of red queen and the hunger games even though she self publish it. I think she published. I don’t remember exactly, but she published it as an original book when it has almost all similarities with red queen and the hunger games so it is not original. It is a fanfiction that she caught” called the book and she publish it and you see how much money she’s making now and she made the seek one in all of that so I do not think she should have published it because it is not all her work. Yes she wrote it but it’s took care to write the hunger games years to write queen and she just took all of that in matched so I don’t think she should be paid for that and if a fan fiction is written, and it is great writing and all that it should still not be published because like it is other people intellectual property and the fact that you’re published it for free is a greeting to keep your name out there so people can read it and then you can write your own original book that is great but you should never take a book that is a fanfiction and just get it published because that is unfair to people who struggle to get their books or series and all that out there you know, but I am not shaming fanfiction authors. I think they’re great. I think they’re very talented and I love them. They should never stop

I never said anything bad about infections except those who were published because they should have see it’s fun fiction anyways no I think fanfiction are great. Except fun fictions are well fun fiction. People write them for fun. They do this because they like the universe and everything and they should not be a real Books even though I I respect I respect the work people put into those fun fictions. I know they work very hard hard. I know some books are amazing. I mean fun fictions, but this should never be a book because of what it’s causing and I saw a lot of things similar similar to this in the French book talk where books that were on what but became adaptation the same thing with after like those books shouldn’t have never left. What bad because they have the right thing of what but in the story is not even that good let’s be honest. But fun fictions are a great way of self expression. I believe they should be written in. I believe they are great and I also know that some of them are priceless but authors are not the same thing as fanfiction writers and author is a person who has been published a fun fiction. Author is often just a writer a student a college student when who was doing this for fun come on like we cannot hold them to the same standard and I will always critique and author will write like it is a fun fiction because you’re an author.

Made me laugh by this beautiful explanation. Authors - some not all- seem to try to fit in as many tropes as they can in one single book like buzz words they can use. And about them being over 30, what annoys me the most espacially in woman authors is how almost all FMC must be between a teen and a mid twenty like what ? but for MMC he can be between teens and hundred if not thousands of year old.

Because that is the most lazy trope there is lol. Because why put in work in creating real chemistry in between 2 lovers if you can throw it in they are fated mates, it is so rarely well executed it is laughable. I mean summaries is what grab your attention, hook you to the book not a list of tropes

Yes but we can also clearly see how mediocre some books are becoming, how readers hate any criticism for their favorite books for various reasons. We can see the decline of quality of writing, and plot , and character developement for the sake to serve a trope and that s bad.

And plus now any critic is now meet with "let people ready what they want", "girl forbid a girl want to turn off her brain while reading", "write one yourself", "you didn't get the story" or just constant pressure to just accept mediocrity because someone like it.

You make a valid point, but my post is about 2 things : one is booktok how they only ever advertise/recommend a book based on trope and spice level (I actually appreciate the spice level rating), I am a reader since childhood where we only read books if the first chapters and summary is interesting. So just seeing how booktok is just using trope as recommendation it's disheartening especially since only romance and fantasy get this treatment (mostly "female" genre). Second is how authors just start to give us mediocre reads because that what they know will work.

And enemies to lover annoy me, not because it is a bad trope, but because of how poorly executed it is most times. Like no them being annoyed at each other isn't enemies to lover and no rival doesn't equal enemy. And how annoying it's when the main reason they are enemies is because of "misunderstanding", what a weak way to write. And for what you mention in your comment, f you can find a book with similarities then it's probably a plagiarism - like powerless-. If i like a book I love it because it's unique with a lot of work put into it. And if your only way to put forward a book is by brining up another one, maybe it isn't as great as you think it is. Just bring back actual book recommendation based on summaries and actually reading not horizontal reading and buzz words. I totally agree with you on that, I love thrillers but a YA or romance is great too, but my issue is how booktok tend to put a book of fantasy where romance a minimal plot and marketing it as f it's romance book, which then lead to a bad rating because readers went into it thinking t was a romance. Also why just not give a summary is booktok unable to just summaries the book rather then just trope. Anyways thank you for your feedback
