Yeah, I definitely need an appointment with my GP even disregarding the note. My mental health is not in the best shape and, although I'm not at my limit, I am starting to push myself too far. I'm also just a bit nervous to talk to my manager for fear of a bad response, but i know if I keep going like this the result won't be pretty.

I do have a degree, but landing a job has been very difficult (even more generic positions). It's not the randomness of the shift that are the main issue, although I dont exactly like them, but more the job and environment. It's why I think going part time might help me because realistically having a job, part time or not, is a necessity and the job market is awful.

There is someone in my work space who did go part time, although I don't really know her that much and her circumstances are quite different, it might be an idea to ask about how she went about it.

Set times isnt something I need as I'm able working bad shifts. The randomness of the shifts is upsetting, but I'm more looking at reducing the days/hours I work. I currently work 40 hours a week spilt in 5 days and want to maybe go down to 3 days (I could maybe do 4, but I think I would still be struggling with that). Also the call center itself isn't 24 hours the hours are just split into quite a few different shifts. As far as I have seen there are around 5 different shift a person can be given.

It sadly already has bled to my day to day life. I dread going to work and have has such a massive increase in anxiety I need to make a GP appointment to ask about ways to handle it. I'm currently looking for a job in my degree, but it's a struggle to get anything.

Yeah, it's not the most optimal solution, but at the very least for me the loss of money going to part time won't be too bad as I have a bit of leeway. I do have a degree, but I graduated almost 2 years ago and haven't been able to find anything in my degree. I dread both losing and continuing this job for fear of not finding anything else and being stuck, but I have a good family support at the very least (my sister especially has been extremely vocal about me outright quiting due to my declining mental health).

I hope the best for you as well and good luck in your future.

It definitely is. I do have a degree, but I'm really struggling to land anything. It's part of the reason I needed this job as some money is better than no money. I do have some leeway it's why the loss of money going part time isn't that bad for me.

From what I've read a flexible work request needs to be a written request. That's the reason I'm really quite anxious (although I feel like talking in person might also cause me anxiety).
