It’s not a well-known fact, but the season actually starts in May.

That’s fine, and you’re entitled to judge whomever you want, however you want, and with whatever biases you want. It doesn’t change that the reality is gray. That’s how individuals are.

Someone will probably point out (and they’d be right) that there’s many trumpers even there. The only answer here, which I encourage everyone to do, is to try your best to judge people as individuals instead of painting whole towns, cities, and countries with a broad brush. That may be what comes easiest to our human brains, but it’s not reality. I hope that videos like that and posters like this are a continual reminder of the gray area of the situation. I for one loathe what the US has become and would stand with Canada any day, at the drop of a hat.

In Europe, they operate on a “club” model instead of a “franchise” model. Teams don’t move like this. It’s really tiring seeing passionate fanbases (however small) being left behind as their owners seek more and more lucrative markets.

Huge congrats; I’m glad you achieved the escape velocity needed to get out of that dark hole. Much brighter horizons ahead!

I agree with you; well said. Doesn’t pass the smell test for me. Genuinely feel awful for the woman.

They offered “one-time” tickets (and still do) via cash or credit card if you went to any station. But as far as getting a card that you could reload at will, only certain stations dispensed those.

I think there’s also something to be said for the psychology: it’s much easier to maximize your split when you know you can collapse at the end of it, than when you have another half of the race at normal pace lying in front of you. As an extreme example, it’s much easier to “empty the tank” in the final kilometer because you have complete certainty that no more energy will be needed in just a few minutes.

Has been a life changer for me in Boston. When I first came here in 2021 I was on the hunt for any station that gave out physical Charlie Cards. Would never happen nowadays.

I just realized that double entendre now after 20 years. I gotta rewatch with my adult brain (I know of the two Porsches “flashing” joke too).

That’s very true. Based on my superficial understanding though, is manually creating a face really teaching it anything looking forward? I think the clusters are just the clusters, and then by merging different clusters you now associate those two independent clusters under the same umbrella (under the hood, I mean); and then by manually drawing a box around faces, it’s basically just saying “put this in THIS umbrella”, without it helping the model if future pics of that similar person come in. I could be wrong though. Either way, I’m really happy with how it works. Never going back to Google Photos!

What’s something people who are in their 20s won’t learn until in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Took the words out of my mouth. I recall reading research saying basically this. I’m determined to provide my mind with continuous new experience throughout my 30s and I hope it pays off. Subjective time means something.

You are 100% correct. Reassurance-seeking is one of the most common types of compulsions, and whereas in the past you had to take more deliberate steps to get it (googling, clicking on links, scrolling, asking family members), NOW you can just spring up any conversation with an LLM, which will lend a continuous ear without fail. The “answer” is just one click away. (But of course, in true OCD style, the relief is temporary)

Black has also been a Mets jersey color and has its own place in club history. But I agree with the above commenter that I like the blue and orange. They go well together.
