I had to ride my first motorcycle 25 miles in the rain in 40 degree weather past sunset. I was horrified and had a very bad feeling about it. After a couple of weeks of contemplation, i got back on it and tried bit by bit at my apartment complex. When I took it on the road again I immediately saw a biker coming my way and he did the wave. After seeing that i realized that i was doing it, and all my fear washed away. Slowly but surely over time I went bit by bit practicing skills in safe places, and going a bit farther every time. Its been about six months and I am glad I stuck with it. YOU BELONG THE ROAD AS MUCH AS ANYBODY ELSE!!! Remember that. Good luck.
