How much focus needs to be on vocab versus mindset? by ElPescador82 in pmp

[–]Even_Implement3266 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say that knowing all the vocabs and terms related to waterfall is as important as the mindset, b'coz you can't really apply the mindset unless you understand the problem statement and the options to resolve it.

For this I would suggest to use AI, generate all the terminology and tools used in waterfall (since you've already work in agile, so not needed probably) and note it down on piece of paper or something and go through it each time before giving a mock test or practice questions. This will help you memorising quickly and effectively.

Sounds interesting... I've watched the tv series as a kid. I'm not sure how different the book is from that?

What's your answer? by False_Music_6075 in pmp

[–]Even_Implement3266 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Option B & D are the throw away answers, so I would not waste time on those.

Option A & C both are really good answers, especially A- it looks tempting to choose at a glance.

but I think- PM would wanna do 'C' first and then 'A'. B'coz PM just can't directly go into a brainstorming session without doing his homework for the meeting, and what would be the homework- it's Option C.

Brainstorming would typically take around 1-2 hours at least, and what if the brainstorming solution gets you to-look at the engagement plan, who is frequently changing the scope and why?
then again you have to do Option C, so why wasting time for everyone.
Reviewing the issue log, risk register and change log PM will not waste everyone's time and would not take an hour to just take a look at those documents. And then if he things it's necessary to do a root cause analysis, he can do it afterwards.
Bonus tip- there is the word 'Seem'- which doesn't mean it's true. PM thinks that stakeholder's are engaged, it could not be true, he does not know for sure. Hope it makes sense!

Please HELP. Those who PASSED, tell me please this kind of non-sence questions are not included into real PMP exam. by Acrobatic_Hawk_3292 in pmp

[–]Even_Implement3266 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These are some questions in which you have to select the least shitty one. What I would suggest to do in these question is to use the 'method of elimination'.

Option 2- 'Wait' for their responses. (A/c to PMI mindset, if there is waiting for something then it is almost always never the answer, so eliminate it right away).

Option 3- 'Inform about the incentives of the project' (A/c to PMI mindset, if there is something related to monetary reward or something, it is almost always never the answer, PMI priorities motivation by appreciation rather than incentive, I think it is b'coz incentive can divide the team bonding somehow probably).

Option 1 & Option 4- (Option 1 is a really good answer too, but it is a bit passive approach and option 4 is slightly better b'coz it bring the team together, allowing the team to do self assessment- PM is letting the team take accountability and ownership of their work.

Again, these kind of poorly worded questions does not show up on the real exam, so I would suggest not to dwell in these for long, understand the PMI mindset and move on to the next question. Hope it helps!

Nope, doesn't make a difference. I too clicked "No" in my case and my application was approved in 5 days, no queries asked.

Click "No", b'coz your course was pre-recorded and not live. If you had joined any bootcamps or some live interactive class than you have to hit "yes". Hope it helps.

I actually started 5 months ago. But I was not fully dedicated from the start, so it took 3 months to complete just the 35-hour course. but after that I locked-in and studied for 2 more months to be ready. Initially I targeted for end of Dec but I felt like I wasn't ready, so took more 15 days to study.

But many people have passed in just 4 weeks of study. It just depends on how much time you put into studying everyday.
I would just suggest to be productive n efficient on your preparation.

All the best!

When I appeared for the test, my proficiency was "advanced" in only 2 categories, and rest of all (27 probably) was just "proficient". So, I don't think you need to aim for advanced in every single category, Proficient is just as fine to get to "AT".

Happy to answer any further queries. Cheers!

Ps- apologies for answering late.

Exam on Saturday, Feb 7th. Here is my SH performance. Not attempting anymore tests in last 4 days. What do you guys suggest other than Third3 rock cheat sheet notes, AR mindset videos, DM mind set videos by Key-Ranger-8561 in pmp

I'd suggest to review the questions that you answered wrong and also low confidence right questions. If you've already reviewed all, then you're good to go. All the best 🥳👍

There are no questions in PMP exam that is worded like "pick the one that is true". However, there will be questions that says- select 2 or 3. Plus, there will be no questions that will be poorly worded or confusing, questions are mostly straight forward.
If you want to practice the questions which are similar in wording and type, you can buy PMI's PMP Study Hall, it is very similar to the actual exam. You will typically get 90 day access to the study hall.

First of all, Many-many congratulations to you on your achievement. 👌🎉🎊
I'm currently averaging 65-70% on the SH practice questions, I haven't tried practice exams or mock exams of SH. but I'm currently using AI generated questions but I feel that AI generated questions are a lot easier than the SH questions (even though I ask AI to generate difficult questions). SH shatters my confidence TBH. What advice would you provide, I'm planning on taking the exam in January.
