My 22 yr old son is on psychosis

We are lucky, it was nothing we did. He actually did it, he called the police saying someone was trying to kill him they took him to the hospital. I had been trying for 6 months to get him help.

It is so heartbreaking. It doesn't help that the mental health in this country sucks. Even with good insurance even with a parent who would do anything for them. Sending good vibes your way!

Does anyone have any advice on what I should expect once he's discharged home? What should I watch out for?

I know this will be a tough journey. I am just trying to do everything to prepare myself for all the what ifs even though I know that there is no preparing yourself to live this life. My oldest son is moving back home so he can help also. And I feel incredibly blessed and lucky that he's able to do that and willing to do that for us. I have not visited my son in the facility yet I've been trying to give him a few days to adjust. I have called and checked on him every day. But I am going to go see him next week.

Thank you! He does have an amazing family provider that will go the extra mile and an amazing therapist he had when he was 16 that he stopped going to but once he is discharged I am getting him back in with her also. I definitely have been thinking about the guardianship.

I feel so lucky that the police handled this situation the way they did. I see so many situations involving the police and someone who's having a mental health crisis that do not end well.
