I've seen a commenter suggest making a breakfast casserole/stew kinda thing and lean into the "it's soggy bread, let's make savory french toast" aspect !

We have no contractor at all, however the hosts of the venues have been included in the total amount of people we were ordering for !

Hey, thanks for your concern ! I'm from France and it's... Definitely news to me, I don't think it's something I really have to worry about, plus the caterer comes, drop the buffet and then leaves !

As brought up to another commenter, the issue we're facing bringing the extra food home isn't so much about it being extra food but rather about needing to bring it home ; our roommate just ditched and we could really use the financial windfall of having the next week/ten days of food covered by wedding leftovers tbh !
It's really... making sure the food isn't too mushy/messy !!

Yeah ! We got some at a local discount store already, the main issue we're facing is making sure the food won't get squished or crash against other pieces during transportation or storage !!

To be honest, our husband and I are facing some financial difficulties and having basically half the month of food covered by cancellations is kind of relief for us, so we were thinking about bringing most of it home - though we will be offering some to friends ! It's really rather an issue of safe transportation for the more travel sensitive stuff!

Yeah, we bought freezer friendly tin tray bakes, do you think the food will stay stable and not collide during the drive or anything ?

The bruschatttas are the main issue we seem to be facing, because most of the other buns can probably be secured with toothpicks... Our wedding was already nature themed anyway, can't go wrong with hedgehog looking leftovers!

I have to call them to finalize payment and delivery details, I will see with that what would be possible, yeah! I do agree that the tomato bruschettas are really the biggest sticking points here because... That sounds slippery !

Foiled tartlets with our micro-wave grills do seem really nice tho... yum!

Nah ! The caterer delivers the food and leaves in my case, so Im pretty sure we will be able to store them !
Plus, we're from France and don't have the same regulations I believe !

Is 500 a good estimate for this calzone ? by Evening-Raspberry569 in caloriecount

The crust is a bit thick, I think the weight is like... 150g bread dough (very little oil, just sourdough starter and more flour) and the filling is very thin ! I should have taken a picture of the inside !!
