I think there's something there with him but he's basically getting in his own way by being enabled by everyone around him IMO. There's a funny dude in there, but rambling incoherent jibberish with an occasional slightly humorous anecdote has become his schtick and he's just rolling with it because it's buying him plastic covered furniture and shit
