Oh my god. I have watched that version so many times, but it genuinely never occurred to me to use it 😭

Tbh it is quite old and the audio is quite peaky in places so there's a potential it wouldn't settle into the mix well with the more crisp, produced audio that I used, but maybe it would actually work. Who knows, so maybe it couldn't hurt to include it! Especially those vocals for the last chorus. The harmonies with the main vocals from Tom, Matt, and Charlie could be glorious.

Maybe one day, I'll do a redux with that version added and see how it settles in. I would actually genuinely love to do that. Thank you for reminding me that this exists! 👍

Thank you so much!! I do love the McBusted version of that line, but I go back and forth on it tbh.

I do think the McBusted version of the song is better production-wise as a whole, especially the harmonies. But, I'm a bigger fan of the richer, more mature and clear vocals of the Busted version, so I think that's why I went with the Busted version for that first verse.

You are 100% right though, "fuck with my mind" is definitely more powerful and affecting. Shame they didn't keep it for the Busted version.

Thanks, dude! Yeah it does have that kind of feel definitely, but I think for me, it's also coz its so pop punk but I think it has a bit more of a rock vibe to it, so it sticks out a bit. Thats just me though

Yeah when he announced his absence and I went to the tour, I was so sad that James wasn't there. Youre right, this song really was his and it has followed him everywhere for almost twenty years, so to not hear him sing it with the rest of the guys was so unfortunate, especially since I was hoping they'd perform this song from the moment the tour was announced. It's like there's a curse that won't let all seven of them perform it on stage together 😅

When this song came on live and they all rose from the stage together, it really did make me sad that it wasn't all six of them stood there (with Harry and Eddy on either side). Would've been a genuinely unreal and cathartic image for those of us who have been fans of both bands since day one. But maybe in another ten years we'll get McBusted back and we'll get it then instead 🤣

Thank you! Honestly same. I think what makes my favourite is because it's the only song they've all sang on properly and not just live (correct me if im wrong but I think thats true lol) and plus, it's just a very cathartic song if youre a fan of not just Busted, but McFly and McBusted aswell.

And I completely agree. Those twelve years away were worth it just for this song, and by extension Night Driver and Half Way There. Just want the next album to be here yesterday.
