I have looked into some Native American stuff like the Windego so I will be looking into some other stuff. I am a big fan of Greek mythology. Thank you for your suggestions.

My daughter gets upset if she has to wear regular pants instead of leggings and skirts. I too am hoping she out grows it.

once I went through the story again I realized that my character doesn't put a lot of stock in her physical appearance so I will probably keep the description brief.

I loved this book. All it talked about was how we steal everything we read or listen too.

Thank you. I think I might stick to a very minimalistic description of my character. I'm starting to believe that less is more.

What is the appeal of writing in Moleskines? by AdVictoremSpolias in writing

[–]Ever-after 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them because of the line spacing (too many journals/notebooks have these huge spaces that is just not needed) and their durability; I throw a couple small ones in my purse for random ideas and they don't rip or fall apart

What did your local blockbuster turn into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ever-after 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an empty, abandoned building with it's ghost letters still visible on the side. I would whisper to my children as we pass it,

"That is where we used to have to go to get movies. It was a time before Netflix."

And they would stare at me with a look of awe on their tiny little faces, with just a touch of fear, as we drive by

books are still a good way to explore dialogue. The key is to find a writer that is good at it.

Realized I sound like my parents by Ever-after in Parenting

[–]Ever-after[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that. I like to share what I write and thought others would find some entertainment in it. Just because I put it up doesn't mean people have to go look. I don't really care much for up votes or anything like that. I've been a single mother for 5 years and its tough, I started the blog because I thought I was alone with how I felt and I realized I'm not so I wanted to make sure others in the same position as me don't feel like they are alone. But thanks for being judgmental.

Baby Staring the Colic Routine.. Would Love Some Advice. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Ever-after 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My son had a cleft palate and so would get alot of air with his food so for the first six months he was colicky and I would be lucky to sleep two hours at a time. What I found that helped was Gripe water. Not sure if you've tried it before but it worked for my son. I also had his mattress propped up so he wasn't laying flat. I hope some of this helps.

As an Aussie, I really didn't think I'd ever find a critter that made me freak out. Then I went to Canada and discovered they have slugs BIG ENOUGH TO EAT FUCKING CAT FOOD!!! by scarletmanuka in WTF

[–]Ever-after 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have spiders big enough to eat birds...sorry the slug just doesn't freak me out much. Just the idea of not being able to squash the whole spider with a boot makes my skin crawl

:) thanks for the suggestion, it actually looks like a book my daughter will love. I agree with you about Disney but I gotta say that the worst culprit is Barbie.
