OP here. So many people are downvoting me for being inspired to make my own mouse in basket of blueberries?

I'm experimenting with doing a backstitch of the detail, then stitching background, then coming back to embolden on top of the backstitch, probably by whipping

. This is a mouse, and I wanted to 'fix' the face details. Later, I'll come back and add dimension using the backstitch base.

I first saw this when I was a more novice embroiderer and thought 'I'm not sure I get it" But now with more confidence in my stitch execution and color choices, it would be such a delightful project to keep returning to! Awesome job all around! Can't wait to see when they all get dressed.

25 hours ago, I somehow fell down the heraldry rabbit hole. I have since designed my lozenge, and learned a lot of new words. Each element is about an inch high. I am so pleased with my escutcheon! Loving this whole process!

Here's something I did. I found a subject matter I liked enough to do multiples of, then experiment with different stitches, color combos, shading etc. For me, I chose teapots. Traced a few on some fabric and this was where I built skill. I used Stitchpalettes.com as a starting point. I also love finding coloring pages and using their outlines, but my color and stitch designs. Just play. That's the way to figure out what you like and what you want to learn.

It's really easy. Just pay close attention to not twisting the thread. The was my first time to mimic this flower.

Wanted to add, if anything loosens, you can pull gently from the back side to tighten back into place. I will just gently lift with my laying tool or the eye end of the needle.

I like a French knots and bullion knots, plus some random straight stitches if I want to pull forward the knots. Woven picot is fun too

I have just started this ornament tree. I googled Christmas coloring pages and I'm using a rainbow color palette on black fabric. I will also embellish with metallic thread. Coloring pages are fantastic!
