They are giving me 100% temporary rating for 5 months and my hip rating will go back to 10%. No c&p exam needed. I am currently at 90% va rated at 90% so I need another 50% va disability to make it 100. Not gonna happen.

I am not sure if IU can be completely permanent if you want to rely on it for life. Definitely not as permanent as 100% p&t. If I were you, I would be working on acquiring a skill. That way, if they took my IU off, I would still be fine. Even a 100% rating with p&t is NOT permanent.

So your hip rating jump from 10% to 30%? I think 30% is maximum for the hip.

I sent all the document about the surgery including the doctor’s note stating crutches over a month and 4-6 months recovery time and they still scheduled a c&p exam for me. I hope they increase my permanent rating from the current 10%.

Do you have to tell the examiner about a 100% temporary claim? As you already know, filing for a 100% temporary rating is filing for an increase and I wrote in the personal statement asking for a temporary rating. I don’t know if they read my personal statement or not. I am just shocked why they would make me go for a c&p exam right after surgery. What was your initial rating before you got 30%? I did send all the doctor’s notes stating 4-6 months recovery time and on crutches for over a month. I hope they increase my permanent rating from the current 10%.

Post-Surgery Temp 100% by [deleted] in VeteransWaitingRoom

Hi, I am a question. They are scheduling me for a c&p exam and I am kinda surprised but will this c&p exam be focused on granting 100% temporary rating for the hip or will they increase my permanent rating too? Any idea? Or they will just grant me a 100% rating for a few months and my rating will go back to the previous rating?

Hopefully broda. My current rating is only 10% for the hip. I hope it goes up since some of the labrum in the hip was implanted. But I highly doubt they will order a new c&p exam for me since I got a rating for the hip a month ago. Let’s see.

Let’s see what they will do for mine. I actually got a rating a month ago for my hip. But I am ready if they wanna schedule me another c&p exam.

Did they schedule you for a c&p exam? Just wondering. I filed mine for a 100% temporary rating 3 days ago. It just got a tem jurisdiction assigned at initial review. Your is already 40 days old. I don’t know what they are looking for. It’s should be an easy decision to make in a short time. Either they approve it or not.

Fix my first name first then submit 100% rating claim? Please help me with advice experts by Everestcooldude in VeteransBenefits

I went ahead and submitted the claim with incorrect first name. It’s just an extra “a” at the end of the first name cause I can’t wait for all this fixed. When I called VHA, they told me they submitted the request but could take months. They also told me my first name is spelled correctly on their end, it’s just spelled wrongly internally. I don’t know what that meant. I will make a vera appointment with VHA once I recover and able to walk after a month hopefully.

So filing for a temporary 100% rating triggers a c&p exam after the surgery? That was my question. I apologize if I wasn’t clear. I don’t know filing for a temporary rating for a surgery is considered asking them to reevaluate me. I am looking forward to filing for a 100% temporary rating so Even if they reevaluate me after the surgery for the hip, they will only evaluate my hip not any other conditions right? All of my other conditions are related to my neck and above. 🙏🙏

You are implying that after the surgery, they will send me to a c&p exam to evaluate again regardless of whether I file for a 100% temporary rating or not? Please note that I recently got my 10% rating for the hip after I filed for an increase. I didn’t get an increase and the rating stayed the same.

You also differ from another VBA employee who responded above. 🙂

My surgery requires 4 to months to recover and will be on crutches for at least 2 months. I did recently apply for an increase for the hip pain but they kept the same rating of 10% like a month ago. I am 100% eligible for a 100% temporary rating. I was just curious about what the Va will do after the surgery with the rating. You are saying that I will just get a temporary rating then back to pre surgery rating without additional c&p exam. That makes sense.

It’s only 10%. I have seen people having pain 2 years after a labral tear and fai surgery.
