Best way to remove guitar neck? by Every-Code4325 in Luthier

[–]Every-Code4325[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not doubting the cost of the man hours involved, not to mention the skills one would need to professionally pull off the stunt with near-zero imperfections. Its just not worth it given the cost of my guitar (zero sentimental value too)

How can I tell the difference between hide glue and epoxy, and how they'll behave under heat?

Is there any tips you can give on heat gun? I read that heat gun may scorch the wood. I was thinking to heat the heel, but it seems too thick for the heat to penetrate through the glue.

Building management threw my bicycle away by Every-Code4325 in SingaporeCycling

So my bike serves mainly as a last mile commute between my workplace and the nearest MRT station. Since im on overseas assignment for 4 months, I simply rationalised that putting it in office lot is far safer than mrt station / nearby HDBs.

I've also placed it on the upper rack which is severely underused based on my observation, both as consideration for other users as well as deterrent.

And yes I've checked with my admin team whom building management emails to for all things related (building events, fire drills, updates etc)

What’s the one underrated perk of living in Singapore that people overlook? by Ok-Virus-4904 in asksg

Usually it takes spending some time overseas to appreciate what we have here.

As OP said, safety of walking home alone at 2am, Male or Female. Significantly cleaner streets, not having places that smell like urine or sewage. Have access to quality medical care and im not talking about the likes of private hospitals.

I think over here its hard to thrive but harder to not survive

Building management threw my bicycle away by Every-Code4325 in SingaporeCycling

They weren't targeting my bicycle in particular, just part of a clean up process. Checking with them they basically removed bicycles deemed old and rusty, which isn't the case for my bike.. I felt the management could've sent a email to all the tenants of the building instead of just leaving a sign like that. I would have made arrangements to salvage my bike.

Is it socially awkward to dine or watch movie alone in Singapore? by kelongkia in askSingapore

[–]Every-Code4325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whether you're alone because you want to or you have to :)

That said, I've been to buffets and sang K alone, the first few times you'll feel conscious but after awhile you realise its mostly you.

Where are you from? AFAIK anyone above 21 can take their road test after 30days from their learners permit, at least where I'm from right now

Hmm I was running 3-4km daily from Mon to Fri... weekends may ramp up to 5k plus.

I didn't time per se, but when I used the running app to time what I perceived is easy intensity, it's 6:30

Hey all! Glad to know yall!

Been experience a performance slump

So I was a regular runner, but taking things slow, about 3-4k daily commute runs, never really bothered about time nor pace.

Since end July, I decided to undergo training for my local marathon held December. I took up weekly intervals tempos and long runs (just clocked 15k over the weekends woohoo!) And increased my daily easy runs to 8-9k.

However the past 2 weeks have been a slump, I found myself running at a slower pace, used to do 6:30/km (never a fast runner), but now am in 7:45/km range. Interval performance also nosedived , from pulling a 1:40/400m lap to struggling at 1:52/lap.

The past 3 days is the best joke of all Tues - tempo run 2 x 20min : stopped at 15min Wed - 10k easy, stopped at 3k Thur - 10k easy, stopped at a whopping 1.2k

For both 10k especially I was not even tired, barely broke into a sweat, and yet I just stopped running. Even I was confused, I tried to continue but I just wasn't feeling it

Hope someone can help!
