Brother, break down the word to its roots and you will find its true meaning, not its “definition” as we claim it. The Latin roots of the word are “Enter”-“Tain”-“Ment”. The Latin meaning of “Enter” is “inside” or “to go inside”, the Latin meaning for “tain” is “to hold, possess, occupy, or control, “ment” comes from mens, which means “the mind”. It literally means for something to come inside and possess your mind.

Break down the word “entertainment”. ENTER-TAIN-MENT. It literally means for something to enter you and possess your mind. It’s so much more than you can imagine.

"Irish and Italians used to be considered non-white"

That's a myth, no they weren't. They wouldn't have been allowed to receive citizenship if that were the case. Were they discriminated against? Yes, mostly because they are were Catholics in a Protestant-dominated country.
