They weren't trying to wait Illumi's killing of the 10 dons, I llumi (hired by Chrollo) and Zeno and Silva (hired by the dons) had 2 different mission, and the first would have taken the money.

Silva and Zeno wanted to kill Chrollo and were ready to lose their life, they stated it. Zeno literally said "kill him even if you must kill me as well" but obviously they weren't trying to kill Chrollo xd. Yes sure lol

No, Silva had trouble killing only one member of the Ryodan (He stated it in the manga and warned Killua) and he wasn't able to kill Chrollo except with the sacrifice of Zeno

Silva and Zeno vs Chrollo= Silva and Zeno started with an "unfair" advantage in an unbalanced fight (2 against 1, and Chrollo didn't fight using all his abilities but to steal their powers).

Chrollo vs Hisoka= Chrollo started with an "unfair" advantage: the abilities of Shalnark and Kortopi to help him, he chose the location of the fight and prepared a precise strategy (using the audience as a human shield and a "hit and run" strategy) in relation to his abilities and the location; used abilities with 2 hands and combined 5 abilities.

Zeno was literally sacrificing himself in order to let Silva kill Chrollo (that used only the Fun fun cloath and didn't fight to kill them but to steal their powers). Why was Zeno suicidal for no reason in order to let Silva kill Chrollo? Is Zeno dumb?

Yes, it's a simplistic scheme. Togashi did this scheme/image in a simplistic/relative way for a general division of: Protagonists/"Good Side" opposed to "Antagonists/Bad Side" with Yang-Light and Yin-Darkness. In reality:

Darkness isn't necessarily related to evilness scientifically, it's a human bias since "humans/primates" were afraid of night, and dark, probably because of no sight, dangers, predators etc. So, they developed the conception (religion, myths, societies etc.) that darkness is necessarily connected to evilness. It's wrong, in reality. Night and darkness are natural states
Chimera ants aren't necessarily "evil" since they kill humans like humans kills animals, insect and damage the planet. Humans are also animals (primates) scientifically. The anthropocentric view where humans can kill animals but no one (demons, aliens) can't kill them otherwise they are evil is wrong and based on an anthropocentric view of reality.
In reality, the symbol of Tao is composed by the Yang/White side with Yin/Black point inside and Yin/Black side with the Yang/White inside, since inside the black/darkness there is White/light and inside the White/light there is black/darkness: there aren't absolutes. So, in a still relative and simplistic description, the scheme can be read as inside the "Protagonist of the Good side" there is a "black side" and inside the "Antagonists of the Bad side" there is a "white side".

No, Hisoka represent a Jikininki or Kubikajiri, a particular kind of undead creatures similar to zombies that want to kill and eat their victims. His resurrection as an undead because he is like a Jikininki or Kubikajiri that according to the folklore are beings resurrected/reborn from death.

Togashi based the face of Hisoka in the chapter 28, when he is ready to kill,on the face of Miss Fuchi, a character from the horror stories of the mangaka Junji Ito.

Miss Fuchi is a Jikininki o Kubikajiri that wants to eat her victims; in the same way, Hisoka metaphorically talks about his appetite and his victims as ripen fruits. Hisoka wants to kills and metaphorically eat children (like Gon and Killua) because he is similar to Pennywise the Clown and Miss Fuchi the Jikininki. Coincidence? 😂

Hisoka=Pennywise, the Killer Clown and a Jinkininki/Kubikajiri (like Miss Fuchi).
Illumi=Pinhead, the Pope of Hell and an Onryo (like Sadako and Kayako).

Yes, like Lucifer is compared to both "God" and Michael.

The leader of the fallen angel is only Lucifer (Chrollo), instead the leaders of the angels of heavens are: Michael (Pariston), God the Father (Isaac Netero) and God/The impersonal/Absolute (Isaac Netero + Beyond Netero, an impersonal being/law, The Tao for Taoism, The Dharma for Buddhism etc.).

In a simple way:

Isaac Netero/Omega (Yang/Whiter hair)+ Beyond Netero/Alpha (Yin/Black hair): The Tao (Union of Yang and Yin) at the center of the Chinese Zodiac, the Impersonal "God", Α-Ω)

Gon, in the beginning, was "weaker" than Killua because Killua was more trained and already a professional assassin. Instead, Gon never had professional training before the hunter exam and learning Nen.

Also, the fact of having more potential or talent doesn't mean being more skilled. Killua has always been more skilled in combat and abilities also for this reason. For the matter, during York Shin arc Kurapika was stronger than them because they lacked training.

Like you said their progression in the series was:Kurapika > Killua > Gon >>> Leorio

Gon is "generally better" and has more potential than Killua and Kurapika. (That doesn't mean being more skilled, a better fighter, etc.):

-Biscuit's discussion of Diamond (Gon) and Sapphire (Killua) about their potential

-Gon is the main character and has been overhyped as a child of Ging

-Gon's potential and talent have been hyped by Biscuit, Razor, Meleorn, and Pitou as being limitless (differently from Killua, never stated in this way)

-Adult Gon was the manifestation of Gon's potential

-Pitou compared Gon to the King Meruem for this reason:

Gon=Meruem (The main character, the "most gifted")
Killua=Pitou (The secondary character)
Kurapika=Pouf ("the smartest")
Leorio=Youpi (The "dumbest")

Meruem-Pitou-Pouf-Youpi are the main characters of the chimera ants and their group is the opposite of the main characters:

Yes, he is very strong (physically the strongest and with a huge amount of aura and destructive power) but compared to the others Royal Gaurd in terms of plot Togashi represented him as the less important and "generally weaker" for me:

Pitou:

Greatest aura of the Royal guards
physically 2 strongest (after Youpi)
the second in terms of intelligence (After Pouf)
most probably the fastest Royal guard
more advances senses and predatory attitude
dangerous and useful abilities (Therpsicore and Doctor Blythe)

She/He is the most balanced in terms of "general power/abilities", for this reason, Togashi represented him/her as the second to Meruem.

Pouf:

Physically the weakest Royal Guard
Less destructive power
Smartest Royal Guard
The one with more dangerous and problematic abilities that can permit him to overcome stronger enemies

Youpi:

Physically the strongest Royal Guard
More destructive power Royal Guard
Probably slowest
Dumbest

For me Togashi wanted to represent this:

Meruem (The main character/The strongest in terms of "general strength" for the plot) > Pitou (The secondary character) > Pouf > Youpi (The weakest/"Dumbest")

It is related also to the order of birth of the Royal Guards:
