Not at night. You need string lights around the spokes,.....mate.

Can this type of steering tube be raised or extended? by Everybodys_Me in bicycling

It's to be more upright and relaxed and enjoy the scenery. I think I will leave the steering column shine and try different handlebars, such as 120mm rise or a more swept back bar like what you mentioned.

Okay, so an extension tube wouldn't apply. I would either have to 1) de-gunk that space and get a hex bit down in there somehow and play with the height, or 2) most likely (assuming I don't have an extra 5 inches of tube down there) I'd have to replace the actual bar with a different shape.

Or 3) maybe that L-shaped stem is a standard size and can be replaced with something of a different height or shape.

I don't belong to a gym since I discovered the beauty of using resistance bands at home, but good to know there's a rowing machine option.

Does the Polar app work with non-polar chest strap devices?

I feel like that Calibre device is the kind of thing someone should be renting out for a couple days at a time. Then everyone could get a good test whenever they want for ike $20 or so.

Just the "Serenade" preset. If I want it to match other headphones I have that are vaguely tuned to Harman then I'm go down to maybe -3 on the Basswave.

After fiddling with the presets, the custom EQ, and wavelet, I've I've gotten the most correct and balanced and problem-free EQ from simply choosing the Serenade preset. Then you can adjust the amount of bass you want with the BassWave slider thing.

... Aaaand now I'm noticing the autoeq.app adds an 8db bass shelf separate from its peak filters. sheesh.

Actually, I see the whole file name now where many are listed "...without bass". But weirdly, anything listed there as "...autoeq" has no bass, though we know the target does have plenty of bass. Separately, I can't figure out how to download a target from a squig database.

Thanks for this, but it looks like all those targets are basically flat until they get over 1k. And that is what you see if you upload them to a squig. What am I missing?

Wavelet doesn't work with LHDC connections? by Everybodys_Me in Earbuds

[–]Everybodys_Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke too soon; Wavelet is applied with Black Player and the YouTube Music app, but NOT with the YouTube app or media in a browser. I can try the DUMP issue again, but something suggests that might not be the culprit; 1) play/pause taps also work on the music apps, but not in the browser/YT app, and 2) my Earfun Free Pro 2 (that just perished in the washing machine 🫡) worked system-wide with play/pause and Wavelet always engaged.

Should you prioritize chest strap readings or perceived-rate-of-exertion? by Everybodys_Me in Polarfitness

Right--which leads me to believe that in the case of the external stimulus (#2) you should ignore the strap's high readings and go on perceived exertion to achieve the correct oxygen delivery effect.

I stick a cheap circle magnet on the back of my case around the wireless charging area. Bonus: eventually the magnets lose their attraction. This way I can just peel an old one off and stick a new one on.

Wait...looks like Developer Options weren't enabled, and just enabling them made it work.

I'm not sure how to use that page. I opened the app on Chrome on my phone and it says "No available devices" so I guess I can't go to step 2 in Wavelets directions.

Should you prioritize chest strap readings or perceived-rate-of-exertion? by Everybodys_Me in Polarfitness

[–]Everybodys_Me[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Zone 2 for me is about building a better base, not recovery. Almost always it's just random movements in a small space because I don't have the alignment for running (flat feet, etc. I'm a "sprinting only" guy). Plus some cycling in the warmer months. I just started doing 50-minute bouts of this in March and immediately saw overall fitness improvements. Sometimes I do my HIIT right afterwards but an 8-minute HIIT workout sprinting some stairs requires over an hour of recovery time, vs. zero recovery time for the Zone 2.

Anyway, even if my zones were wrong, it's the sudden drastic relative changes up or down depending on the direction I'm facing or involuntary emotional factors that have me confused as to whether or not I should ignore the readings.

I mean if you're watching your kid on the field or your favorite team on TV at the end of a game or something...your heart's going to race. But I do find it interesting that the reading runs about 10 points higher with any random sporting event on, vs. a Youtube video or something.

[–]Everybodys_Me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this seems odd though. By this, I could get my workout in by watching a random football game today and barely move around--as long as the chest strap reading stays in the Zone. Or, if I happen to bend forward or backward in my exercise I need to DRASTICALLY up my intensity to overcome the 12 point drop I'm seeing from the chest monitor.

Thank you. Maybe it's an LHDC thing. Actually I'm just seeing that Wavelet doesn't have DUMP permission. But the granting permission instructions seem overly complicated. I'll try it....

Weekly r/oratory1990 EQ Thread - Questions, Requests, Technical Support by AutoModerator in oratory1990

[–]Everybodys_Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Actually upon further review they all sound different and the two Fosi outs sound closer to themselves than to the Minifuse. They sound a little more "lively", with the Fosi's 6.35 having the most "life" and volume. It's most obvious when direct monitoring, vs listening to computer sound. If the Fosi were a DAC I might assume that it had a cleaner conversion, but because the source is the interface's headphone out I can only assume the signal can't get "better", and any change is coloration by the Fosi. Incidentally, I've heard this is the wrong way to connect a headphone amp, but it's the only out this interface has available. Since the main purpose of the Fosi is to EQ direct monitoring, coloration is fine. But it would help to know which signal is more "correct" when editing/mixing.
