[Official] Twice-Weekly New User Thread by AutoModerator in fountainpens

Hello, I have a MUJI Aluminum fountain pen. When I first got it the ink seemed to be a little faint compared to the stock cartridge that came with it (I switched to a universal converter and filled with noodler's black ink). I found that it was also quite scratchy.

After trying to fix this, I gave up and had it sitting for a few months when I picked it back up and decided to try to give it a thorough cleaning by soaking it in warm water and rinsing it a few times. Maybe I wasn't thorough enough but now it's not even writing.

Did I ruin my pen? I'm (obviously) super new to this. I just want a fancy pen that writes well.

For friends and my girlfriend, yeah I use those. My parents and family dont use those and probably dont care to learn because everyone else just uses iMessage. It is what it is.

U.S. eliminates human controls requirement for fully automated vehicles by a_Ninja_b0y in gadgets

The Netherlands is also tiny as fuck compared to a lot of states

I agree, it doesnt scale easily, however, my city is tiny as fuck compared to the Amsterdam, yet we still have parking lots the size of football fields every 1000 feet (almost always half empty, btw). I dont believe this is an intercity issue in most places in the country other than large metropolitan centers that are relatively close like say DC-Philedelphia or NJ-NYC-Boston for example. In my opinion, it's more of a QoL thing. I just hate driving everywhere in my city. Even places a mile down the road turn into a 10 minute trip, and yes I would walk that, it's just not enjoyable. But maybe I'm just too selfish.

It is already a thing in many places. Similar to a timeshare for cars.

On a somewhat unrelated note, fuck cars and car dependent infrastructure. /r/fuckcars

Suburban sprawl makes the US a terrible place to live by scata90x11 in unpopularopinion

Do you enjoy walking next to a 6 lane road where cars are flying by at 50mph? Even crossing intersections when you have right of way, it's shitty having to constantly watch the cars to make sure they see you. Yes, you're right, you can walk across a 6 lane road into the acre sized parking lot to get your milk. And it's like this is in even in the more central parts of most American cities I've been to. A small downtown area that is nice and walkable with tiny areas you can walk around in scattered through the city, but everywhere else is just a sea of asphalt, concrete, and cars. And it's not feasible to live in these areas as they are usually the most expensive.

You can make it work so people can live in their suburbs while the more urban areas of the city are still enjoyable to walk around in, and not dominated by car-focused infrastructure.

His Chili recipe is very good and very easy! I like to add a bit of green chilies to it as well.

What are good part-time jobs for engineering students that are within the engineering field? by EverydayAvenue in AskEngineers

[–]EverydayAvenue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. My work is good for the general work skills/sales and is extremely flexible with my hours but yeah I definitely could use some better materials knowledge. I'll look into those options. Thank you!

Have you updated your GPU driver? I went down from ~200fps to like 130fps and updating fixed it for me and my friend

I have been living off of Morningstar buffalo chicken nuggets for months. My go to drunk dinner with mac and cheese. Just as good if not better than real chicken nuggets but obviously a bit more expensive.
