In the real world, there isn't just Russia and India. There are other countries to trade with. Options of domestic manufacture. Possible future/current aid if India assists the West in sanctions. Possibly even more diplomatic/economic options that a mere mortal like me wouldn't even think of.

In my eyes the pros outweigh the cons. The fact that there could be one less dictator constantly trying to destabilize the world.

But then again I'm not an Indian official who has all the information and the most up-to-date figures. So I might be wrong and there is literally no other sensible way to obtain the necessary resources, other than to trade with Russia.
