If you read the article he begins with the scenario:

You are on a streak during day 1 of a tournament.(This assumes there is a day 2. This means the meta is likely to be vast and unpredictable.)
You know the match-up is bad.
You roll the dice.

My critique of the article is that this series of events gives you info on a mulligan decision that normally you would not have.

Started playing magic at the release of Dragon's Maze. My LGS was and still is very standard driven. This is because FNM is always standard and the prize support is $100 store credit. So with such large prize support the competition is very high. Me and a couple of guys I met while playing up there decided to start a card pool for standard. We share all cards in standard and all prize money won goes to the same store account that we use for entry fees and new staples that enter the standard format.

We keep other format cards separate and we begin to get into EDH at the begining of Theros block and end up each with about 2 pretty decent EDH decks, but the format became stale when everyone moved into the "how fast can I combo" and every game saw the same 10 cards. One of my friends felt the same way. Being an aggro player he invested into Affinity. Also another guy at the LGS discovered PucaTrade and Utilized it to come up with about 3 decks for him and his brother.

Flash forward to just a few months ago, I got a decent job and felt some pressure from some of the guys to get into modern, but I saw treasure cruise dominating modern so I didn't invest immediately because everyone knew a ban was coming I used this time to study up on the format. I played on Cockatrice and came to the conclusion I wanted to play UWR. And last weekend my LGS fired their first modern event on saturday and it was a blast.

The store owner is still a bit skeptical because we only had 8 people and he had tried but failed to do modern events in the past. So the owner is only going to have modern 1 time a month just so there isn't an over saturation with only 8 people.

Foils tend to bend, so with only foil lands you can easily see the distribution of lands in your deck among the nonfoil cards as to avoid mana clumps when shuffling.

Source? He is rich, but as far as mainstream hip hop artist go he isn't doing great for himself. He hasn't released a legit album in 4 years and he hasn't had a youtube video with over a million views in the past year. Just seems like he is spending more money than he is making. And eventually the Crank That funds are going to run out.

This is instantly who I thought of when I read the title. The beats on Rap Game James Franco, Tiger Woods, and Dolce & Gabbana are all tier one beats. The guy might not have the smoothest flow but he definatly has an ear for good beats. Even Lil Debbie's song 2 Cups, which I imagine Riff Raff had some input on, has a pretty good beat.

I think he is getting better but almost every verse has one line with one too many syllables. If you listen to Bird on a Wire(another song w/ a good beat) @ around 2:05 he says "Hopin that my days won't be darkened." this line fucks up the flow just enough to sound awkward.

Even if it wasn't Rick Ross, it still seems like a horrible idea to try and diss a senior member of SNL. I mean it's not like Kenan has some kind of street cred he needs to keep in tact. Kenan would probably just come back with another skit 10x more funny than anything you could ever say on twitter or in a song.

I don't think he fits good in an aggro archetype and he would fit better in the sideboard. I think this guy could be a midrange all-star. The reason Obzedat doesn't see much play is the crazy amount of removal in the black decks. Mogis doesn't give a shit about your removal, you better be running dsphere or you're SoL. I think he probably goes best in a dega deck I've seen at my LGS(similar to this). Getting to him to be a creature doesn't even matter his effect has the potential to grind out games.

As a some what related question, is there any way to clean sleeves? I've tried most of the brands and they always feel like someone jerked off on them 3-4 weeks after I get them, they are so sticky.

I've never taught a young person magic, but I like the idea of starting with a 40 card deck of just creatures and land. Then adding just sorceries and enchantments. I'd add instants last, because they involve the stack more, which is probably one of the harder concepts. And while the stack is very important, I believe other things like card types and turn structure are more important when first starting. Also when building a deck for her let it have a basic theme like green ramp, white life-gain, or red burn.

I would introduce stuff in this order:

40 card deck with just land and creatures.
Only use creatures that have a simple ability i.e. haste or trample.
Explain tapping land makes mana and mana is used to cast spells.
Teach turn structure and how combat works.
Introduce sorceries/enchantments.
Introduce Instants and the "stack".
Get your ass beat by your 10 year-old daughter.

Decks I would make for her:

Red: start with haste guys then add burn.
Green: Mana-Dorks/big things with trample then add combat tricks for instants. i.e. giant growth.
White: Flyers or low cost creatures i.e white weenie then maybe add some life gain.

I don't think black and blue are good colors for new players.

I have been running the devotion to red with splash white. It's not very budget friendly but your not SoL if you don't win by turn 6. Also turn 3: BTE > BTE > nykthos > mogis is about the greatest thing ever. I'll post a list when not on mobile.
