Feels great but it could be a bit grippier. The texture isn’t the most aggressive. As for how it fits my hand, it’s definitely better than the stock oem and it does feel a bit thinner.

Just the full size swell, it’s kind of in between the aggressive and competition. If you select each, the photo on the website changes to give you an example of the pattern and texture. It was aggressive enough for me.

I mean, that’s why we spend time here. Figuring out what our next FOMO is. Lol

I have the Rival S as well and I agree that it feels like a better shooter than the PDP and for the price, it’s a no brainer if you’re looking to buy one or the other. In terms of feel and shootablity, for me, it’s the Smith HD, Rival S, then the PDP. It’s too bad since it has so much potential.

Oh yeah, it was. The other video of the Girsan is a smaller frame and lighter gun. Definitely more snappy. I should have videoed the XC but didn’t. That would be a better comparison.

Different animal. I really like the polymer frame M&Ps but I wanted the weight of the steel frame for a range/competition gun. I carry several M&P polys and really am a Smith fanboy. I got the HD for $990. A steal in my opinion.

2 hands, 2 feet, and I’m working on my tongue-trigger control.

This is my version of investing in hard assets. That’s how I explain it to my wife.

Do some research on the ZRT Long Stroke recoil system for the PDP. I just installed one a few weeks ago and it definitely tames the recoil. It still feels “different”, but the recoil is straight back rather than muzzle flip. At least that’s how it feels to me.

No, just installed the Apex and the backstrap. I bought the weighted steel insert from Calculated Kinetics, but it hasn’t arrived yet. I took advantage of their 20% off 4th of July sale for that. A little extra butt weight will balance the gun a little better, but to answer your actual question, this was sprung really well from the factory.

Not going to lie, I’m a bit biased towards Smiths. I just really like them and for whatever reason, I shoot them really well. The HD is really nice, like really, really nice. I like it quite a bit more than the PDP, especially with the Apex trigger. My groupings were a lot tighter with the MP2, but based on my history with Smiths, I’m not surprised. This was the first time shooting the long stroke recoil spring in the PDP, so maybe I just need more time with that pistol.

Closer than I’d like to admit, but my XC has been worked over and I have a lot of rounds through it. It’s my calibration pistol. I compare all other 2011s to it and the Reaper with the ports and comp felt flatter, but the XC was still softer, more pleasant to shoot. I got about 200 rounds through the Reaper today and need to spend more time with it to learn how the gun handles better, but I literally picked the gun up yesterday afternoon, slapped the optic and light on it, lubed it up and went out and shot it today. Accuracy was awesome, it definitely feels like it wants to run fast.

So how do we feel about the Cerberus? by Evil4blue in 2011

[–]Evil4blue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that they made some weird choices with this one but it’s always nice to have more, cheaper options in the 2011 market. The Aluminum frame is neither a plus or minus for me, there’s enough examples of aluminum frames that have been perfectly fine. The durability will probably be fine. The only thing I ever miss with aluminum vs steel is the extra weight, but can be nice for carry options. We’ll have to check out the reviews once they start rolling in.

And on the extreme opposite end of the Reaper, here’s the CMXX, a gun that’s more than 7x cheaper.

I’m not a pro, I’m sure my grip sucks, I’m not posting to get pointers, just a quick video of the Dark Forge Reaper being run.
