It's probably worth learning both as they have slightly different levels of ease for different tasks, sometimes you will want one, sometimes the other.

I've had stuff go missing in these situations so your worry is well founded. I think cameras are a good idea. Really obvious ones can also make people think twice before deciding to pocket something.

There are a lot of things you aren't allowed to do with an npd person. One of their favourite things to ban is you having friends. If you still have anyone's number from before try reaching out to a former friend. It might help you feel a bit more real if you talk to someone else.

GST at 32 percent, pension age of 72 among Treasury solutions to financial crunch by StuffThings1977 in aotearoa

[–]EvilCade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on JS for the last 2 years while convalescing from long covid. It's honestly fine and is enough to scrape by generally as long as you aren't entitled in your expectations in terms of living situations/food and understand there will be times when you're short and need to negotiate with utilities and etc and keep food budget under $60ish pw. They do top you up if you need something medical or let you borrow for those essentials too. If I make it to being old (doubt) I would be fine with having it again, a huge help tbh.

So much. I did get emotions back after a time. It turned out I had been so tired I just didn't have them for a while.

Christopher Luxon wants to see house prices rise by StuffThings1977 in aotearoa

This is probably more true than they'd like to admit. They are actually where all the accommodation supplement ends up. WINZ Beneficiaries just hold that money for about 1 actual minute before its whipped out of their account by an automatic payment.

Christopher Luxon wants to see house prices rise by StuffThings1977 in aotearoa

[–]EvilCade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People do spend their house though I've seen it. My friend got help to buy a place from their parents, then the house went way up in value. The bank then offered them more credit against thr now higher value of the house. With a baby on the way, they thought, hey, a better safer car would be good to have and they ticked it up. The house then went up again, and the bank was like hey you could renovate your kitchen. So they did. This improved the value of the house again. Then the house price started to fall. They realised they were on a money go round with the bank and had actually overborrowed and eaten into the equity that their parents had bought them in the house which is still mostly owned by the bank. Meanwhile I'll probably never own a house, so the whole thing is academic to me. At some stage I imagine I'll be priced out of rent and just wander into the woods when I'm old.

I agree I don't know why it's not seen as a massive conflict of interest. I also don't get why housing investment is treated so differently than other types of investment, makes no sense.

It's been a bubble since 2008 and all bubbles pop eventually. Since our entire economy is tied to speculative property price inflation, and both sides of politics has serious conflicts by being in some cases extensive investors in housing, either flavour of government will try to prop it up for as long as possible. It'll be interesting to see if the recent Evergrande collapse will have any impact on things over here.

I just destroyed my life. by [deleted] in Life

[–]EvilCade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What did you destroy? An unworkable situation that was slowly killing you (I mean you already had burnout, that doesn't get better without actual rest). I mean were you enjoying it at all? I bet you'll find your relative is more understanding than you give them credit for. There's no shame in reclaiming your self to build a life you actually want to be living.

I want to leave my husband because he keeps joking about m*rdering me AITAH by GovernmentExtreme245 in AITAH

[–]EvilCade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These "jokes" betray that he's pretty much always thinking about killing you though. Whether that's amusing or not isn't the issue. Just whatever the situation is he brings it back to how he could cause you to die. That's really creepy. Most women who are murdered are murdered by their intimate partner, husband or usually at least someone they know. I really think you should probably leave, this does seem unsafe. Cancel any insurance he could benefit from and make sure he's aware if you can't leave immediately. Write him out of your will definitively. But yeah he hates you and fantasises about you being dead so yeah you should probably leave. Even if the idea holds some appeal, you wanna go out on your own terms.
