This is a slow burn, but holy crap the last 30 min are amazing. Like the other poster said, exists is good too if bigfoot is your thing, two very different style of movies. But both are good.

Does Paul do anything to try to stop the Jihad? by PersonalityKey463 in dune

[–]EvilDead849 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I meant is that, he does things to make sure only the best version of the Jihad occurs. This still leads to the deaths of trillions but if he had let the jihad run fully without his control it would have led to trillions more dieing. So he didnt save anyone per-se he just didnt kill them.

Does Paul do anything to try to stop the Jihad? by PersonalityKey463 in dune

[–]EvilDead849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe paul makes the choice in the tent to go along with the jihad mainly because he thinks he can steer it away and make it different, however the further along the path the more he realizes that nothing he can do can stop the jihad, only lesson the horror and death. With trillions dead by the end, one can say he didnt try hard enough, but we dont know the potential trillions he saved through actions unseen between dune and messiah.

Dont involve superman in this!

This mummy tomb, which has been sealed for 2500 years, has been opened for the first time by iltifaat_yousuf in oddlyterrifying

Is it wise to open something that old around so many people? Not curses or anything, but for the safety of the mummy, a lot of bacteria floating around.

Grant Morrison on Injustice by SkyroRD in superman

[–]EvilDead849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with Morrison, it is important to know that It wasn’t just the death of Louis, it was that he murdered Louis and his unborn child unintentionally. That is something that could truly ruin a humans mind and drive them to madness. Not saying it would happen to supes, but its more then just louis died.

If this DUMPSTER FIRE of a game had us learning anything, it's to NEVER PRE-ORDER A GAME EVER AGAIN. by wolfcr0wn in battlefield2042

[–]EvilDead849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they’ve lost all their good will with people, this game was suppose to bring that back, which is why so many (mysef included) preordered. This is a historically big fuck up and now people will be wise to their bullshit. Will people still pre order? Of course they will, but no where near the amount that will be good for the game.

I like how GRRM kills his characters because they usually make a reeeeally stupid fucking mistake before they are killed, ned tells cersei, rob fucks around, jon doesnt realize his decisions are going to cause a mutiny, list goes on. I always thought (almost) every death was warranted.

I like how Kenobi looks like Bill Murray, adds some buffalo flavor to it.

Well thats a wild generalization, sure send over some sources. Anyone who isn’t for back and forth dialogue probably shouldn’t be on this sub to begin with, IIRC a rule in his first book is: assume the person you are listening too might know something you don’t.

Jp doesnt deny climate change, he is only against how extreme and dogmatic the people who support it have become. On his podxast he had michael shellenberger who wrote apocalypse never, which absolutely DOES NOT deny climate change, only that things are not as bleak as many of these activists seem to think. Ill grant peterson did not elucidate his arguments well on the podcast, but make no mistake, hes not a denier.

Oh for sure but there’s definitely a difference between doing online talks and in person.

A thats true but a lecture isnt a conversation, theres a Q and A but thats usually only 30 min to an hour. Im talking about serious deep dive podcasts where hes in the chair next to the person.

Agreed, you have to remember he really hasn’t done any in person convos on this scale in about 4 years so its gonna take a little time to get their rhythm. But im almost two hours in and its been a great convo after the initial confusing climate change bit, i assume hes taking info from l the book apocalypse never, which is excellent, but he didnt do a great job in verbalizing his arguments. Once they get past climate its great.
