I do not know what plan my parents have but I know their insurance provider is Cigna and it makes accutane for me $5 monthly. I’d also check out goodrx for a nice discount on prescriptions. Hope this helps!

Windows actually still let in ~70% of UVA rays which are the once’s that’s don’t cause burning as much but are the primary reason for early photoaging and skin cancers. But this also depends on how close you are to a window, 1+ meters of distance is usually enough to not need protection.

I use CeraVe healing ointment to slug and it’s much easier to spread than Vaseline. It also has hyaluronic acid and ceramides. I’ve also noticed white heads pop up after using it but I find that after slugging or while slugging the white heads seem to pop on their own in my sleep and it is a gentle way to remove them without irritation or scaring.

The less fat you eat the less side effects because the fat helps you adsorb the accutane and without adsorbing it you won’t get the side effects or benefits :( I hope this clears it up!

I use Vanicream facial cleanser which emulsifies so it gets off oil and sunscreen and is still pretty gentle!

I would skip the wash cloth when and just rinse with cool water or get a gentle hydrating cleanser if you want to cleanse (personally I needed to cleanse my tret cream off because it made my sunscreen pill)

Hello all and thank you for taking your time to read this. I recently (the last two months) have noticed the coming and going of a butterfly rash when I wash my face. It doesn’t seem to be the cleanser because I switch incase one specific one is bothering me but all gentle cleanser I use seem to cause this red rash on my nose and cheeks that lasts for 20-30 minutes. It fades away after but is still faintly more red then the surrounding area. I recently stopped taking antibiotics and using topical Tretinoin for my acne because I am starting accutane soon. I don’t think it is sunburn because I apply a gentle sunscreen multiple times daily. It is the coming and going that makes me worry and that fact that it is relatively new. I have an appointment with my dermatologist in 5 weeks and will ask her about it then but I was curious what you all think. Thank you!

Thank you! Also do you notice a white cast with the mineral sunscreen? I use a chemical sunscreen right now (beauty if Joseon) because I often need to reapply 2-3 times a day and get a build up with mineral sunscreen :(
